Tinytuttles 2020 grow chronicles

Thanks @Badger I’ve actually been on the JADAM train for a couple of years now, got some 3 year old JLF but to be honest I don’t use it. I like the JMS solution for soil prep and conditioning. I’ve moved more towards the father’s (K)NF techniques like WCA, FPJ, LAB, FFJ, and a bunch of different live vinegars but I’m now leaning more towards applying those to my worm bin rather than directly to to the plant. The FAA is at the top of the to do list, that I know will be used regularly through veg.

She’s seen better days

Nice! I do more of the knf stuff myself. I need to get a book. I’ve been kinda willy nilly up to this point.

M2 just reminds me that I need to renew the fishing license to get some material! But FFA is something I’d like to concentrate on . I still want to try minnows jammed down into the soil also

Maybe I’ll give Em1 another go and make some more bokashi bran with the 20lbs+ of wheat chaff I have as a carrier material in the garage

Nice ! What’s your dilution in something like that 1:1000?

@FattyRoots have ya ever made a Protozoa soup? Lol

Freshly cut grass preferably in the morning early and dumped it into water and bubble for 24 hours! It’s amazing all the zig zagging motion of those little guys under the microscope!

Actually been thinking of that, dry season here at the moment so need some rain first, should be about 6 weeks off. Super interesting and simple process.
Have you seen it react well with the plants?

I always start at 1:1000 but definitely no more than 1:500

Nice bro! I may try and utilize bran also in help prevent grass hopper damage there’s a product out there called Nolobait that does really good for hoppers … from what Iv gathered it just an innoculated bran with a special bacteria on it shouldn’t be to hard to make IMO

Oh yea it gives them a pep in the step that’s for sure !

Drying the bran was the hardest part because of the smell, I really like the rich sweet sent but my wife definitely does not haha! Next batch will have to be done incognito

@Tinytuttle have you ever made the 5 day banana peel ferment in the fridge before? I’m going to try it I think, then apply it to the girls that are flowering

I haven’t but I’m intrigued! You have any info on it? Banana ash might be a good one to throw in the rocket stove also!

If you scroll down a bit and click the how to fix tab there is a recipe for it there, I’m going to put one on now with banana flesh as well as the peel. I have locally grown organic bananas to use so very blessed there.

Now I am officially jealous, but at least you understand that you are blessed.

Crazy that the banana tree only producers one bushel then you have to cut it down to make way for it’s offspring, first harvest I was getting excited for multiple bushels but then realized I had to take it down with the machete. It gave off 3 babies though so not a bad exchange.

About to watch this, should be interesting

Here, when there’s a lot of bananas to cut I use the chainsaw …
I also cut the entire trunk, down to the ground, and remove the core … this prevents the drill from entering the root …
I also split the trunk in half, and it serves to fertilize and irrigate the plants … If you don’t cut in half, the trunk will rot and may favor bad organisms for the banana …
I learned from farmers who plant pumpkins, that to avoid watering, just bury a piece of fresh banana stem under the seed, it will provide moisture and nutrients, until the plant reaches the deepest parts of the soil.
Another management is to remove the banana shoots and leave only 3 individuals in the clump, this makes the banana develop with all its vigor, providing a greater production …
