Good stress today, CityTV is showing up at my work to interview 2 of our artists in residence as part of the “Expand the North” project we have going.
So I made the place really pretty and hope we get some good PR.

I feel like I could’ve used more guidance as a kid. Like someone to sit me down and ask me what I really want in life and how sitting around wouldn’t get it done and I could get stuff I liked by working hard, I dunno. But like, working hard on MY GOALS not like some arbitrary stuff

Im giving it to myself as an adult but damn I’m 35, wish I had realized where I was at like 22 or 23 I don’t know, but that’s just hindsight talking

I look after a film-arts centre, so moving images but that’s the starting point.
I’ll share an image of the set-up i’ve done for one of them for their screening on Friday. 4 digital projectors so far. One will be for single-channel work, the other 3 I set-up on towers so a triptych of video loops (shot on 16mm) will play as they do a live music/noise performance. Pedal chains, etc.
I do this shit for fun so I always get asked “are you hire-able as a personal tech if I travel tour?” which I say, “Sadly I’m a bad traveller so… no. To much of a bear and I need my cave to function.”
They smile, nod and then take notes! 
The other artist is a woman born in Ethiopia but lives and practices in Bergen. She’s more of a traditional one channel filmmaker doing a socialigical peice about refugees and their/her experiences as “Muslim Africans in Norway”.

Yesterday was a long haul. Only got to making food at 9pm, plant care from 9:15-45, then I ate at 10pm… Anxiety is HIGH. We dropped 
2 years back for a new roof, and water showed up again this spring through our venting… turns out the roof is perfect, but but its the 1967 “insulation” and lack of vent-ports in our flashing outside that are causing the condensation build up.
Long story shorter: we need to get a bunch of quotes for different things to find out what we can’t afford and figure out how to deal before next winter…
…on top of the new bi-weekly car payments…
