This beach is 10 min from me and I go there less and less these days since covid as “everyone” shows up on a nice day now. 
Much like this boat, Mrs. Pigeon and I now bring our canoe down there, park for free in the boat ramp lot, and then battle/kite around so we can have a private beach down the beach from the beach. 
If you feel it’s familiar the beaches of Toronto are used a lot in film and tv for obv. reasons. 
Here’s this beach used in American Gods:
And another a few KM away for Star Trek: Disco:
It’s surreal when you zone out as it’s all freshwater, and only on really clear days can you can barely make out Upper New York State in the far horizon.
I did this to make our live edge cedar rose arbour. Cost of wood is insane so we drove up north to family property, thinned some of the woods and then with my draw knive and shaving horse we took off the outer edge of the parts going underground and then blowtorched the exposed wood. This was packed in the ground with stones to account for drainage and it’s one of the most solid things in the yard.
Mrs. Pigeon got me a food saver over the holidays and I’ve mostly used it for hash and flower

The beaches here are blue flag which is really nice. Only hiccup is if it rains. NEVER LAKE SWIM 48 HOURS AFTER IT RAINS IN T.Dot.

yeah swimming after rain is better avoided. canda has some much lovely places ! i always envy you guys for your nature and you vast space. but I think it’s normal to want to have what you don’t have.
