TopShelfs trees (Part 4)

Do it. Just do it. But why Alaska when you can head north in Canada and be left alone just as much I’m sure. We thought we would be able to do this once we retired because of my wife’s work, but we got very lucky and the pandemic motivated us.

Have you ever seen those exposés on food prices in the north? It’s beyond beyond madness.

Oh yea, it’s nuts, you really have to be self reliant imo.

Have friends out there. Canada has lots but it’s that untouched Alaskan land I want. I’d love to go to BC or even the PNW, Washington etc. but I wanna be like 100 miles from anyone/anything. I wonder though if I’m too old now tbch

Oh it’s crazy! Thats why you really gotta be self sufficient/reliant.

So do I but I know I’m way too old for that anymore

But it would have been nice at one time

That’s what I often wonder, if I missed my window :disappointed:

I mean, it depends right? It depends on how hearty you are I guess. How motivated and lastly how much have you abused your body and how much does it have left?

I think I just need to settle, find a nice home not in the city, surrounded by land and somewhere near a body of water with trout . And try and become as self sufficient as possible. Then it into a homestead you know

It’s a great idea!

Ya I’m definitely not old, just feel it sometimes. My sons are old enough to be on their own in fact one is already. Idk but a change is definitely in order. This place has ruined Niagara Falls for me sadly. Stupid neighbors :man_facepalming:t2:

I can’t wait to move South, I’m tired of the cold.

I don’t think you’re too old man. It can be a big change, thats intimidating, but once you make a decision like that you just look and push forward towards the goal. That mindset has served me well.

You guys get too cold.

It’s pretty far south compared to you lol

Once my son is grown and on his own I hope we push further north.

When I was younger I would spend all day on a trout stream fishing didn’t care if I caught anything at all

At 70 now and in good shape but I wouldn’t go alone anymore and sadly all my fishing buddies are no longer around
So I fish a pond in town

My best friend who lives in Arizona keeps telling me he’s going to get 100 acres of land and build himself a cabin in the middle of it and never be seen again. I keep telling him if he tries to do it they’ll bury him on that land. Maybe he’s not wrong at all

I’d do the Big Island of Hawaii, but it’s similar to Alaska in getting stuff shipped in can be a pain.

Oh man! See I wish we were close. I’d have you out constantly! No joke, I can never find anyone who wants to go, my last 10-15 trips were all solo, sadly that’s about all of my fishing days last year too
