I don’t see much amber there but that is also a personal preference on how you like your smoke.

I agree with @MBVapester it seems early still, I see clear trichs still. I read an article in Maximum Yield yesterday, it stated that with hybrid plants they are supposed to be picked about 50/50 amber cloudy, because the maximum THC content in hybrids is at that point. Idk if there’s any truth to that, half amber sounds WAY too couch locky for the energized smokers.

With just a touch of amber is that the best time for the good energy smoke?? Or is zero amber and all cloudy? What’s the difference really?

It depends mostly on strain. I don’t really even check the trichs until the plants look done. It’s hard to explain, they look and smell different when they’re ripe.
I harvest at peak ripeness rather than this way or that. A little amber for me is just right.
If you’re growing a racy strain it will be racy.
People have different positions on this. A lot of it is personal preference.
Ultimately my point is don’t sweat it.

I gotta get better shots. there is a touch of amber, less than 5% right now I’d guess and looks like some amber popped heads. Probably 90% - 95% brown pistils now, almost no whites popping anymore.
I’ve cut back on ferts since late last week. Maybe a few more days?
These are unknown autos (were sold to me as photos). Today would be day 71 since germ for them.
Want less couch lock, more “ethereal” “energetic” and “creative” smoke. 95% of whats available for purchase around here leans towards couch lock…

Other things I’ve gathered reading is the more hairs red the stronger the smell and is ready. I got the swell done, still got about half white hairs. Is it true though that with no amber, the more paranoia the high? More amber means not freaking out?

The things you mention do happen while ripening but are maybe not good indicators of doneness.
More than likely the white hairs will all shrivel by the time it’s done but not always.
They do say that clear trichs are racy and amber trichs are sedating.
I still say cloudy with a touch of amber is perfect for my tastes. If I want a heavy buzz I’ll grow an indica to ripeness rather than let a sativa go too long to get ambers.
