Tripolid seeds have a 3rd set of chromosomes added to them so they are sterile and can’t be used for breeding. It’s good for commercial growers because pollination and hermis won’t cause them to make seeds.
There’s no real benefit for a home grower unless your doing a bud and seed run in the same tent or you have a problem with hermis

They basically use a chemical to foliar spray or soak seeds with that produces cannabis with four or more chromosomes— that’s bred back with a diploid cannabis plant to create triploid seeds. As said before you then have a sterile plant that comes with supposed benefits. They look nice — I have some from Humboldt that I won here and am looking forward to growing them out.

There are a few labs that ship the needed chemical ( colchicine ). They offer overnight cold shipping to the US. Probably several outside the US as well.

You don’t HAVE TO use chemicals to do it. The old tried and true breeding with two triploids and a good selective breeding regimen works just as well.
