Like @Indoornesian said, thanks for easing my mind. I was pretty sure that I was. I remember, when this was first getting started, it peaked my interest. I would have offered to grow them but, my space is full at least until spring or summer. I hope that all is well with you and yours, my friend. Be safe and Stay HIGH :v:t4:

I had a cut from a friend in Vancouver… I don’t know what the lineage was, or who the original breeder was, but it did have tuna smells. The odor didn’t really come out until after it was dried, and you did have to really get up in it, but it was soooooo canned tuna smelling. Nobody could say it wasn’t. Not like a fresh fish, or something pulled out of the water on a dock, but exactly like a can of tuna used for making a tuna fish sandwich. It sounds nasty, but was wonderful.

Shows here he used Reeferman’s Tuna Kush for these seeds.

No worries, seems like most of us on here have our work cut out for us with all the lil projects. Admittedly I was a bit annoyed to grow these out initially but I had to humble myself because I said I wanted to be apart of this community, so what better way to do it than do it myself? Glad to see you along for the ride!

Likewise, stay safe and be cool :snowflake::cold_face::ice_cube:

Yes! That was my experience, not a loud smell but still very noticeable if you cracked it open and put your nose to it. Really hoping for a strong fishy pheno in this batch or perhaps in the progeny. In that case, anyone who comes up on a fishy ass pheno after I dish these seeds out, they better ring the alarm so I can harass them for a cut lol

Yup, that was it. I remember reading a debate as to who had them first, Hazeman or Reeferman and then a further debate about one of them being the actual creator, I don’t think it’s either of them though.

Old school breeders association has been selling them for years. If I knew you were looking I would have pointed you that way

Word? I think I was on Herbies, Nirvana, and True North up until ‘19 or ‘20. Kinda forgot they existed after Strainly and landrace dealers

This has also always been my understanding of the name. I was getting canned weed from BC until I left Alberta in 2013 . Trainwreck Kush , Purple Kush , and Tuna Kush . Were the three prominent names they always had. Was always top quality and was $140 per half zip can.

this strain was very popular black market strain in manitoba around 2014-2017 lots of the vietnamese growers had it and alot didnt do it justice but once in awhile you would find someone who knew how to grow well and show off its genetics. rockstar kush and pink kush took over after tuna died down

Since when? I have purchased a bunch from them. Not recently but in the past

Since 6+ years ago but likely longer. Reeferman came on here a year or 2 ago saying to avoid this place like the plague. They sell seeds called “reeferman genetics” which reeferman seeds was never known as and his stuff is scott family farms now, while the fake website is selling reeferman genetics which aren’t what they say they are. They can’t even spell Neville properly and are apparently selling his genetics too which are also bs.

Edit: they might have worked together before that but had some kind of falling out.

I just checked the Scott family farms seeds. They don’t even carry the same strains. Are you sure they are not just two different companies with similar names?
I don’t pay much attention to the drama and bickering between seed companies… too many rumours and he said she said bull shit. Not to mention there is absolutely no way possible to verify any of it.
I’m the type of person that if I see something I like I try it and if all goes good I let others know. Now maybe what they sold me wasn’t what they said it was in the first place but it was definitely good. But like I said there’s no real way for any of us to verify what we receive is what they are saying

Yeah that’s the shitty thing about an unregulated market (not that regulation is really a great thing either )
Hard to know what to believe and some of the fakes do such a good job at misinformation. I personally stay away from any seed companies that have public arguments/falling out with people online.

Shit gets really confusing. Usually when the listings on a site seem too good to be true though they are. Even if they did work together in the past continuing to use “reeferman” to sell seeds is shady in my book and they’re selling “nevils” seeds too.

I’m not sure if regulation would be possible, Every plant would need a full DNA analysis to be able to say this is this and that is that.
It would be nice to say for sure what genetics you have though

According to my hazey recollection powers, Charles was the original breeder (reeferman) a few copies came up reeferman knockoff genetics and later Hazeman. Charles was going by reeferman back then and Scott family farms popped up after his collab with bcbud. BTW talk to Kakalak from soaknbeans on here. They recently (spring 21?) auctioned a pack of Tuna Kush from Charles scott…I was unfortunatly called away from that auction and missed. Kak may??? have some in a freezer somewhere…worth reaching out to him for some older poss. original stock from Reeferman.
