I wonder if the black ash/weird burn is something else because iāve dried in desert humidity over two days and it was smooth/white ash w/ no hay smell.

Yeah, thatās a hot debate still, and I definitely donāt have the answer there. Given that every plant is a little different itās pretty tough to isolate all the variables. I like reading all the different takes on it though.
The weird burn is more important than the ash color, to me, but thereās some correlation for sure
