Hello y’all, I was gifted an old wall mount x-ray reading light. Dimensions are 24"×60". It has 16 T8 18" daylight bulbs. All seems to be functioning well. Would it be worth it, to use it for mother/veg room? I guess what I’m asking is, will it be efficient, and effective? Thanks!
Be fine for that. I’m using my 17 year old bank of 8 , 4ft - T12s to veg with.
In due time. In the process of moving right now.
For vegetative stage the higher Kelvins the better. There are some special purpose 10000°K sold for salt aquariums that are great…
5000 - 6500K are about the best for vegging. 5000K is almost the exact same as full sunshine. Those 10000K might be great for fish but not best for plants and likely cost a heck of a lot more then regular fluoros.
Look for 2000 - 3000K for flowering tho a good HPS grow light is way better than fluoros and way cheaper than any LEDs that would work as well as HPS. I like the EYE Hortilux bulbs myself with good old magnetic ballasts.
