TK x G13/HP harvested at 58. I repeat, this isn’t even the keeper cut, I just needed to fill space in the canopy and had an extra around. So. dang. good.
Bodhi’s Acapulco Gold (liquidkid stock, the real McCoy) x Bodhi’s Zipolite Oaxacan. Crossed is named “Mordida” and it was made by a wonderful guy on IG named cabbagepaps. This hit flower yesterday I’m expecting it to get enormous and take around 100 days from clone. Smells like a geranium.
This is the '79 Christmas Bud IBL at 60 days. Super old time afghani. Very very pungent. Absolutely in love with it so far, can’t wait to smoke it! Thinking I’ll harvest in 3-5 days.
@vernal! Whoopass indeed! That looks like it would get you so stoned candy would fall out of your ass! What a parade of stellar weed. My god man! RESPECT…
She was done, things move a little quicker under 11/13. The long flowering Whoop-Ass! girl needs another 10 days, but I’m gonna have to pull it in 3 to get the Bandaid Hazes under the big lamp. That being said, I do tend to harvest a bit earlier than some; I prefer plants at peak ripeness rather than after they’ve begun to decline into senescence.
I was feeding 10mL Dyna, 3mL Protekt, and 1 tsp bloom booster powder per gallon, but the plants stopped drinking as much, I cut it to 7mL Dyna, 3mL Protekt, and no bloom booster, and now they are barely sipping the half strength feed.
I definitely agree that you miss out on a bit of yield, but THC also degrades a bit the longer it sits on the vine. Some people also think herb that is past ripe is “stonier” but I can’t notice a difference. High is high is high, to me. I only notice “weaker” and “stronger”.
The new cycle! 4 Bandaid Hazes, 1 TK x G13/HP, and 1 Acapulco Gold x Zipolite Oaxacan. The Mordida (Acapulco x Zipolite) has been in for about 16 days, the rest 12. It is all I can do to keep stuff small. Might have to bust out the silica foliars.
Eight of @GrowHard Mango Haze x Snow Lotus BX1. 9/11 germinated, killed 1 for being a mutant.
Not pictured: Four of the '88 G13 Hashplant IBL. 6/7 germinated, killed 2 runts.
I’ll be making '88 G13 x Hashplant BX1 with a male from these 4 plants, assuming I get one, paired to my TK x G13/HP female. It’s easy to breed with IBL males. I would also like to make Christmas Bud x G13HP and Bandaid Haze x G13HP.
Christmas Bud IBL x G13HP IBL would also make a true F1 hybrid of old time Afghans from the 80’s.
Veg tent. Besides the mothers and males, what I have from seed is: four '88 G13 Hashplant IBL (really vigorous for an inbred line), four Mango Haze x Snow Lotus BX1, and five Chemdog '91 SKVA x Afkansastan/X18 Pakistani. One of the Chemdog plants reeks (B) hope it’s a girl. Everything has been topped and defoliated, should know sex within 2 weeks. From 30 seeds we are down to 13, pre-sexing. Should have between 5-7 females to choose from.
Because I have so much time to kill before the Bandaid Haze is done flowering, I’ll wait until the seed plants show sex, take clones, and then cull the seed plants. I am doing a pollination run after this round, so I’ll just sit tight on the cuts and run them afterwards.
This is the Halley’s Comet cut. Hard to find info, but this is supposed to be a bagseed (S1) of the famed “NYC Piff” “Uptown Haze” “Church” “Incense Haze” “Uptown Brown” etc. I wanna say it’s from Massachusetts. People mostly call it “Haley” or “Hailey” though. People tell me it smells like wet basement, incense, and leather belt. She’s a little beat up from the journey, but she’s a-growing now. I’ve been trying to secure this cut for a while, and this is the only outside clone in my garden.
I do love many of the clones going around the states, but I wanted to get away from cuts and just focus on seeds, which are way more fun. I am going to attempt to recreate the NYC Haze in seed form with the Bandaid Haze males.
Here’s the flower tent, about 30 days in. You can see just how tall all the plants are (except the TKxG13HP front and center), and how sparse they are for being over 4 weeks in bloom. Only 9-10 more weeks to go haha. The TKxG13/HP will be done within 5 weeks though. Everything has finally stopped stretching (only had 6" of vertical space left to raise the light). They’re about 3’ tall and the tent is packed. Everything has been defoliated and all the lowers have been stripped, now we play the waiting game. As expected, they drink sparsely compared to shorter flowering hybrids, and I am running my normal flowering nutrients but 50% less booster and I have also cut the silica.
I often use silica in my nutrient solution, but not always. My water source is absurdly hard and alkaline, so adding silica means more pH down must be used in tandem, and I get more precipitate as well.
But, yes, silica foliars do help control height. Plain water, silica, and a broad-spectrum booster (fulvic, vitamins, etc) is a wonderful spray for early flower. It also is a source of K, and it raises leaf surface pH, which will discourage powdery mildew, if that’s a concern.
Bandaid Haze “shorter flowering phenotype” at 50 days. Smells like cardamom and cedar and soap. Really nice. I bet from clone under 11/13 this could finish by 12 weeks.
The third wonderful TK x G13/Hashplant female from the same 10 pack. I like this one more than the “frosty” cut already. Smells more like an OGK, but doesn’t look as chunky as the #3 cut. I’ll probably keep both for now; they’re wonderful.
The Mordida (Acapulco Gold x Zipolite Oaxacan) at 52 days. Just starting to form clusters and even pushing some visible trichomes. I don’t wanna run this one more than 100 days but I may have to. It finished at 40" tall which is the upper limit a plant can be in my setup. It started as a 8" tall bush haha. Not impossible indoors, but definitely took some effort. Assuming it finishes well as expected, this will be pollinated by one of the broadleaf males, either the '88 G13HP and/or the '79 Christmas Bud.
This is the Mordida (Nierika Acapulco Gold x Nierika Zipolite Oaxacan) at 67-ish days. Citric and spicy. Currently taking up 1/2 the tent by flopping all over the place. 5 more weeks…
The above and below pictures are of the Bandaid Haze “Purple shorter-flowering” female I’m keeping. Smells the same as her sister, in fact a bit stronger. These both look like they might be done at 12 weeks, certainly by 13. The longer flowering sisters might take 14+. The longer flowering sisters are flopping all over the tent, looks like Trainwreck in there. The shorter flowering ones are holding themselves up admirably, even though they are just as tall.
All on track for the Bandaid Haze male pollination run, now that I’ve selected the 2 Bandaid Haze females to carry the F2 seed.
