So… week 6 of flower for one, week 7 for another. Found some thrips AND aphids on my yellow stickies?? What can I spray to save these and to keep my veg plants from getting these fockers?

How long have you had the yellow stokers deployed?

I keep them out just in case. So I can keep an eye on gnats and whatever else. Saw teeny tiny little black specs on there, looked like dust so I put it under the microscope and saw these nasty shits. Now I’m losing my mind. Got to looking around at the other yellow stickies and they’re on them too.

@Sasquatch

I went ahead and sprayed some neem oil on the fan leaves. Is there anything else I can do? I also sprayed my veg plants.

I have not had the experience of finding pests in mid-late flower. Quick introduction of natural predators may help. Late enough in flower it may not affect your finish too much. Others with experience in pests in flower may speak up, but you should use the search function ( if you haven’t already) lots of pest management info here!

They’ll both bite the dust if you spray with btk. Even though the Government says it’s not going to hurt you, I wouldn’t personally spray things on the buds in bloom. Only takes one spray to kill the thrips.

Btk? So just spray the leaves? I sprayed the main leaves w neem oil earlier. I have some dead bug brew also but wasn’t sure if I could use that or not. So I’ve been trying to read the internet and find the answer but there are so many mixed reviews.

1 picture is a spring tail and the 1st bug is a soil mite /dust mite. Don’t spray anything you wouldn’t want to dip your joint in. Week 7. Both thrips and aphids are roughly 2 or 3x the size

Both absolutely harmless they are there to eat decomposing matter

Any natural oil base supplement should work for bugs

Ok well all I did was spray some neem oil on main fan leaves. I checked all around the buds, sugar leaves, didn’t see anything. Put out new yellow stickies and they’re still collecting on there. Threw some mosquito bits in there and watered those in Bc they’re harmless… why not? Hopefully they’ll be ok for another 2-3 weeks. Thanks guys. At least you know what they are. They’re so small, maybe a tenth of the size of a fungus gnat. Probably even smaller. I would’ve never figured that out. I appreciate you guys.

I freaked 1st time I saw them .

Yeah I have a yellow sticky sitting down near the bottom of the fabric pot and they’re all over that sticky. Tiny specs until u put them under a microscope. I’ve never had these things before. The only thing I’m doing different is using recharge once a week?

Well there ya go you’ve added organic minerals to be decomposed . Congrats your own little piece of the soil food web . Get those yellow cards little further up from the soil . Spring tails jump like fleas when disturbed . They use a spring like mechanism to flea from danger.

If it really bothers u can water from the bottom. Water a bit less they will come and go.

Ok I’ll get some more cards up higher lol and I can’t water from the bottom. I’m watering jacks 321 drain to waste in coco. Even when I grew in soil I never noticed these little things. So gross lol

That’s the nature of coco tho with no drybacks. You could use an eszyme product to help breakdown the stuff they are after. Personally I would ignore them
