Welcome to Meesh's Garden

What region are you in? I grew up in the southeast and lived all around there, and hibiscus are everywhere. But I only remember the pink, purple, and variations of those colors. I can’t remember if they grow here in southern Colorado or not. That’s a beautiful orange color on those though. I really like that. Thanks!

mother in law gave me two plants to care for last winter. the other one died …no idea what color it was. Michigan is tough on them. Have to keep it inside in winter. So training and trimming have to be a regular thing if you want one. Can easily get too big to move about.

My neighbor planted a really interesting one a year or two ago. It has 2 toned flowers. Really unique and beautiful. I’ll try to get a pic next time I see a bloom. Hibiscus are plentiful here that’s for sure. A few blocks up, they have what have turned into giant trees of them.

I need to perform surgery on a bunch of my African Violets. Most have started new crowns and have overgrown their pots. My plant window is crazy full too. I may split them and actually throw some out.

@Herbie I know the peppermint geranium bit the dust, but curious if the burro’s tail ever rooted?

All of the cactus orchids are still alive. I have mini sprouts on 3…Umm I want to say the London Fog, Queen of the Night and the Tropical Mood. The others are still alive just not doing anything yet. lol I believe I have over watered them a bit. I’m starting to find my groove with all my succulents and cacti now.

I was recently given an African Violet by a friend who was moving and couldn’t take it with her. She said she never got it to flower. Any tips?

Yes actually, I have many tips as I grow lots of them. The perfect light is number one. Bright filtered light. South window but 3 feet back. I bottom water mine as the leaves brown if you get even a drop of water on them. I have mine in a soilless mix and feed them that jobes african violet food half strength every feeding. I flush them every once in awhile too. They like super drainage. They really thrive under grow lights and with a wicking jar. I’ve been meaning to youtube diy wicking jars for mine. First I need to separate the crowns I have. Actually, your’s looks like it may have 2 as well.

@BarefootAndBlazed I forgot to mention. If they don’t flower in a month it’s a light issue. Move them. Mine bloom every few months and flowers last a long time.

I planted three Orange Goji seeds from Sebring a week or so ago. Two are above ground and both appear to have two sprouts - though it appears the smaller of each won’t thrive. I’ve read so many glowing reviews here. I’m incredibly excited to see how it grows.

Check out my 2020 cannabis log Bro. That’s why I journaled for 6 months. lol There’s photos of it growing and my smoke reviews fresh dry and cured. It’s a kick ass strain. Stinkiest plant I’ve ever grown. Sativa hybrid. I’m gonna grow another one.

Can’t remember who, but someone got a crappy OG pheno from the F2’s though. They said it was lackluster. Mine was the loudest strain. Stunk to high hell all through veg even. Overpowered every plant outside.

Well the plan is to start all five seeds and find a female

I did 3 plants of each strain that weren’t fems. I got lucky and got a female from all of them.

That’s what I’m hoping for because it’s sounds like a great sativa… I remember your posts on it. That’s why I’m gonna grow it. I’m gonna grow it hard and high too
