What are the differences in LEDs and HID lights?

Perhaps small grows and small appendages are issues here? As I pointed out in an earlier post, doubt is fine, being an ass about it isn’t.

Perhaps not. And there are better metrics than gpw, it just serves as a good baseline.

Yeah, but when you start throwing T5 and LED in the mix it gets wacky.

GPW, and WPG don’t really consider things like quality of light, light schedule, nor proximity and angles

If your numbers are accurate you are a better grower than me. And your lights are better too.

I doubt that’s true, but the numbers are accurate. I even reweighed and tested with a moisture meter (I overdried that one) and the WW auto that yielded almost 700g was still nearly 600g.

I was just having fun and seeing what I could yield on my first hydro grow with some freebie and leftover seeds I had. My runts that I should have culled yielded probably 4-6 ounces. But they’re holding seeds. Probably have 2-3 ounces from clones along with dozens of kit hundreds of seeds.

Had about 50 others that were harvested for bud or exiled to the freezing cold when I saw some mites on one.

The last batch of auto clones that are full of seeds are out for a dry today…

I’ve had conversations with the great folks over at HLG and while they were not willing to say it was cannabis weights, they told me they had seen harvests of 1.8g/watt where the farmer said he thought he could get an extra few percents out, and with the same light I have gotten up to 1.7g/watt with a high yielding Indica. That’s with the HLG V2, right before the Rspec came out. That’s top of the line product lights and a high yielder, and my sq footage could be done slightly better but I’d never be able to ever go above 2g/watt on anywhere between 8 and 12 weeks.

5g/watt is pretty fantastic indeed. I could for sure fantasize that up too.

But I still don’t believe anyone can actually do it.

Come back in 10 years and who knows, maybe there will be lights that produce that much and you’ll be able to bluff that one into everyone’s skull, but for now…

I’m still calling bullshit.

@Wizzlez Until you go look at my grow and show me some big yield you had, don’t really care what you have to say :man_shrugging::v:t2:

Well here is the last harvest I did with my HLG 600 rpsec, it’s leaning in the corner of the grow room now due to being given new lights. Have no idea what the weight is but I do consider this a successful LED grow.

It’s just plain and simple math baby, you’re saying yourself you aren’t a master grower or anything, yet you yielded 5g/watt, so 1 METRIC KILOGRAM from under a SINGLE 200W led board.

It’s simply impossible, and any time you show pics, you are showing things that completely contradict what you are saying, like multiple lights of probably higher output, and wet weights on scales.

This is exactly what I got off my HLG 100 last time. Exactly.

don’t mind me asking, the Rspec or regular , and V1 reg or V2?

Mine is a V2 4000k

didn’t know those flowered well. Thought they were a bit too much on the blue side being 4K

I have noticed no significant differences between 3000 and 4000k except my eyes like the 4000k better

when you say no significant… Any unsignificant? :stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s see… If we’re just talking that amnesia, it was a rocket, it was in the 4x8 when I had 400w LED in there. It was previously in the gap between two 200w Samsung boards. It outgrew that tent and was moved to the 2x4. I overdried a touch and trimmed stems to the bud because I knew there would be questions, especially given the guesses I was getting for the free seeds contest. I started that contest because I knew I had 4 pretty remarkable monster plants and I had no clue what I’d pull, I’d already pulled 200+g from a plant on my first grow, so I knew yields wouldn’t be good since these plants were monsters and took all the training I threw at them. I have hundreds of pics documenting each plant from seedling to fully dried and cured.

So, that amnesia, let’s just say 200w throughout the grow, even though it was getting less light through most of veg. so that’s 2.35 grams per watt from one overdried plant that I nuked with nutes late flower. No staking (it would have helped) and I gave up on training after it was moved.

Snowflake, it’s just simple reading comprehension. Go back and show me where I claimed I’d done it.

Right here. That’s where. Simple reading comprehension.

No, I just hasn’t done the math or even considered it. Didn’t know it was such a big deal or a fantastical claim. I was yielding several ounces per plant running 3 plants in coco with that same light in that same tent in my first two grows. :man_shrugging:

Nope. I’m sure you could science a point for one versus the other but IME practically speaking, no difference.
