The first CD that I ever bought with my own money is Creed - Human Clay. I was a churchy kid who liked rock music. This was one of the “Christian adjacent” bands that I was able to get my parents to approve. For me this music was a fresh relief from mom’s CCM radio and dad’s smooth jazz station. It gave little 7th-grade me a refuge and a thing to call my own. This album was the first step in my lifelong love of exploring new music.
