So we got off topic on the Mushroom growing thread, let’s move it here and talk about what to do with your leftovers after the grow!
Bury them in your landscaping and watch a magical new flush come back!
Usually I’ll bury them in the yard. Sometimes, I mix them with the soil I grow my cannabis in. I’ll get repeated flushes while I grow, but I think it can restrict root growth.
Bird feeders.
I add some to my worm bins and Compost bins. Also i have a raised bed ive been adding em too all winter. So im hoping they will take hold. Im in New England I started growing em in sept "20 i also throw my cotaminated grains out there too. Witch seems to invite critters they tunneled out under tarp and feasting
Welcome to OG @DixonVonStank ! Have you gone to the introduce yourself? Let everybody know you and that you are here.
You can definetly bury them, OR you can make a bunch of LC syringes.
Place the spent cakes, or whatever sub you have in a bag of distilled H20 and let it get nice and cloudy.
Dont move em around to much, but rub the mycelium off a bit with the bag to get it in the water.
Then take a fresh or sterilized syringe and suck up all that wonderful mushroom goodness.
You can then inoculate more bags, jars, or Agar. You can even make another large Liquid culture with karo water jars (hippy piss)
The mycelium syringe will work much MUCH faster to colonize a substrate then spores ever would.
Happy Trails
