Damnā¦why canāt we have cheaper electricity prices at night?
Your plants will sleep for 4 hours minimum in a 24 hour period, regardless of whether the light is on or off. So save your money and turn the light off for 4 hours.
I run my lights for veg 6 am to 12 midnight and flower 10 am to 10 pm, being retired has advantages, I dont get up until 9am at the earliest .
for autoflowers as well?
Ruderalis comes from places where sun shines almost 24 hours a day
couldnāt find much scientific literature on this when I looked
From midnight to noon
Yeah, but they dont have to pay for the sunshine, when they are asleep for 4 hours of it . Calling it sleep is probably wrong, they have to switch over to converting all that light energy into food/sugars, they have to do it for a minimum of 4 hours, so they can grow. If there is still light they will still shut down photosynthesis, to convert that energy already absorbed, to sugars and growing. Therefore no light is being absorbed when photosynthesis is switched to process nutrients, so no light is needed. Thatās my understanding of it
This is actually a good idea for a thread Iāve never really thought about this but itās something i need to plan out soon enough, getting some good ideas from other peopleās schedule, my plan is to try and run lights on when Iām home the most.
I like waking up and itās halfway through the light cycle gives me a little time to mess with it and a lot of time to leave it alone lol
I thought the same thing
The 12 lighter in my garage is 7pm to 7am and the warehouse is like 4am to 4pm but itll get changed after this harvest to run only at night and early morning after this next harvest
This reminds me of my morning. My dog is always in my garden with me. He makes me happy.
