Who’s using pro mix? Jacks 321?

Thank you for taking the time to respond @LD50

It looks like the bag is old. Date is 20200501.

I am using RO water.

The jacks part A shows 5% Nitrate Nitrogen and the part B shows 15% Nitrate Nirogen.

I haven’t been tracking the amount of runoff so I will definitely start measuring to ensure I am getting past 20% runoff. I would guess I’m closer to 10%.

I will also set up your test of tracking PH in a control pot, great idea. Really appreciate the help.

Anytime. The older the bag and/or the longer the promix has been on the shelf with some moisture content, the higher the pH will drift.

And to all… don’t do any Promix research on the open forums. Trust only linked material to the manufacturer. Most of the good articles from PT Horticulture were posted within the last two years. A large majority of the pH literature was posted in September 2022.

Are you measuring your runoff in that solo?

I collected the runoff from the solo cup (in another cup) and it tested over 8.

I’m not expert, but that seems an awful small amount of soil to bother. I never even bother with runoff until they’ve been in the pots I’ll flower in. If I see a big issue in veg, I’ll flush with gypsum. But I think a flush would drown a solo.
Opinions only. Right now my plants are 51-52 days. They look ratty as hell, but the bud looks great.
Don’t wear yourself out worrying over it. If that was MY plants I’d put in my next size pot.

I have never used Jack’s 321.

I have been using ProMix BX and HP for a long time. I amend the BX with more perlite, I add additional powdered dolomite lime to both. I have also been using Jack’s fertilizers for quite a spell. I started with the Dynamic Duo ( 20-20-20 and 10-30-20 ) but about 12 years ago I quit using “bloom” foods and switched to Jack’s Citrus FeEd for start to finish feeding.

This works very well for me, I am quite satisfied with the result.

I’ve been using Pro-Mix HP for a little more than a year after deciding to move away from no-till style growing with large containers that I could never seem to water properly. I’ve been using TPS nutrients component series & RO water with the Pro-Mix HP. Had a few plants go start to finish with the TPS nutes with ok results, but they weren’t problem free grows by any means. Since then I’ve had more and more issues with TPS nutes, RO, and Pro-Mix HP.

So about 2-3 weeks ago I decided to pick up the Jack’s pure & simple kit. I put the jacks RO formula to use as soon as I got it and within the first couple days saw some of my issues starting to resolve. My plants are looking fantastic, especially compared to where they were a couple weeks ago.

My seedlings I just planted last week I noticed aren’t their usual happy self’s that I see. Check the date on the bag of pro mix I got in December or janurary and it’s dated 2021. Wonder if my ph started to drift, it’s honestly never been anything I ever checked with grows.

Post some pics please I’d like to see the plants issues

I use promix bx and reuse it at least 2 x’s before it goes in the garden out side

No issues

I do use jacks but my own blends

20/20/20 in veg and some 15.5/0/0
10/30/20 early bloom
5/12/26 late bloom
I do blend the two of them for special npk ratios

I Also added Epson salts to the feed mix

I’m not using the jacks yet. I had some pure blend pro grow and some other liquid stuff I figured I would use up, they’re only a few days old so I haven’t even started feeding yet but some are fine and others have a slight yellowing. I’ll grab some pics later on.

I use this stuff. Works like a champ.

I was thinking that. The pro mix has a little bit of food in there which for me has been enough to where I usually don’t have to add any nutes until around week 2. Gonna let the pots dry out fairly good and give em a light feed the next watering and see how that goes.
