regular fave: roasted garlic, caramelized onions and dill pickles on pizza
lifetime weirdo food: chocolate covered grasshoppers and ants
Why do I think ants would taste peppery?
I just googled it and apparently most ants have some formic acid which makes them taste lemony, and some others like honey ants are bittersweet, and carpenter ants apparently dont taste very good with unpleasant nut and bitter overtones
Iām pretty sure I could bring myself to try a chocolate covered ant, but I donāt think so on the grasshopper. Too much bug body on that one. lol
We occasionally have natto in the house, but I donāt partake of it. Iāve tried it a couple times, and thatās enough for me for the rest of my life. My daughter went to college in Japan, and somehow developed a taste for it while she was there.
Great source of Vitamin K, but I canāt get over the texture
Iām not very food brave and donāt like sushi or seaweed etcā¦ Iāve avoided traveling to asia because Iām afraid I will starve to death. lol True story
Salt suppresses the perception of bitterness on your tongue. Lots of folks will sprinkle some onto a slice of melon which makes it taste even sweeter.
Iāve always wanted to try miracle fruit berries. Consuming them temporarily changes your taste buds to perceive sour as sweet. They call it āflavor trippingā and there was a brief fad of throwing parties where youād consume the berry then taste things like lemon, grapefruit, and salt and vinegar chips. Might be funā¦
I donāt generally like fish, but I will not turn down well prepared fresh sushi or sashimi. Iāve had some very memorable meals at sushi restaurants
Seaweed and kelp are good, especially in soups.
@50State Can you believe the haul I got from that UFS? The plant was barely 5 feet if not a bit shorter.
Swallowed a whole lot of seawater in my day growing up at the beach. Canāt handle the seaweed, but Iād make a good plant fertilizer out of it.
Oh, man. Itās so good to make a soup broth with. Kelp and fish make the very best broth for ramen and dumpling soups! Throw in a bit of pork belly and Iām in heaven.
This is now the Overgrow Food Channel.
The top pic is making me hungry!
I canāt believe it and Iām looking at the pictures lol Thatās an amazing bucket of pot for sure! Excellent job!
Iām glad the UFS seeds are getting out there and shared around the community too.
Here is the last pic I took of her before she got harvested.
Freshly dried sheās very tasty, sweet citrus flavor
btwā¦ Iāve decided that your Orange Goji tastes like skunk bud on steroids
In my opinion, the world should be Overgrown with Skunk weed!
So, it probably got lost in the middle of one of my post tangents, but has anyone smoked LA Confidential lately? Iām still trying to figure out why I remember it being so dank. Itās just been too long since Iāve had it.
Damn, just looked it up, says it has a skunk aroma to it (there it is). Unfortunately itās indica, I couldnāt grow it successfully outside. Iām giving up on all indicas outside unless they are small in pots.
Those berries sounds interesting Iād try it, didnt no that about salt either Iām learning lots today
Brought to you by Meeshās weed and weird food channel networkā¦
Iām actually going out tonight. Orchestra playing halloween movie themes and such. My friend rented an entire cabana for our group and they even serve dinner. Tomorrow though, Iāll start reviewing the cured strains if anyone is interested.
Think Iāll roll up some Blue Dream doobies for my crew tonight. That way everyone will be happy and social without the public anxiety. It will probably be a good fit.
I miss the ramen from Japan and all their food. Yours looks delicious! Your just missing the half boiled egg. My neighbor had quails for a while and I didnāt have the ramen to put them in.
