Have you ever thought about saying the hell with city life and move to the country? How about the Emerald triangle? How far away is that from you BTW?
Thatâs like 3 months by covered wagon!
No clue where the Emerald triangle is. Of course Iâve thought about the country, but then I see the weather reports outside of Southern California and my spoiled self cringes at the excessive heat and cold. 48 years Iâve been spoiled here. Itâs likely I would kill myself the first time I tried driving in the snow. lol
Iâd hate that! shit I hate driving across Fort Collins takes about 20-25 minutes for a town of about 167,000 (2018) census. Yuck I feel my town of about 9000 is getting to big this is coming from a guy who lived in a village of about 400 people back in Nebraska!
You wouldnât make it Nebraskaâs winter weather then! Lol
Iâve never driven in snow in my life. I wouldnât know what to do. I call our extreme traffic âsunshine taxâ. The price we pay to live in a weather paradise. There is no such thing as a relaxing drive in L.A. Itâs stressful, gnarly and dangerous.
Ya the family and I made a trip from san deigo to la several years back the drive up wasnât bad but coming back from Hollywood and universal studios around 4-5 was crazy shit all lanes were creeping about twenty MPH WHAT HIGHWAY is that 105 or 110 ?
Hollywood fwy is the 101, but all of our freeways are bad. Thatâs one of my least favorite fwys too. Itâs really old and only has a few lanes. When itâs not 20mph everyone is driving 70 mph about 3 feet apart. Scary. Our infamous 405 is like 6 lanes across and is 20 mph starting at rush hour which is now 2 pm. Driving is a nightmare here. I absolutely hate it. I donât even like to drive across town as our regular streets are just as clogged.
Yeah bales are like 5 bucks here
Ask your gardner to bring you a load of grass clippings. If you get a thick layer the weeds wonât grow. After that Iâm out of suggestions. It sucks they bend you over a barrel for some dead grass.
It really sucks that itâs so far away for you. I was just happy itâs bagged. Then the wife wonât have me vacuum out the car.
The backyard smells like a fish market right now, but the garden looks like itâs on crack. lol Plants love liquid fish.
Have a place about a mile from me, Kruse Farm and Feed (I think thatâs what they call themselves).
@Tinytuttle
More like $14 for straw and $18 for Alfalfa.
Texas is perfect. If you donât like the weather, wait 10 minutes⌠It will change.
If itâs anything like the bay area traffic, Iâll pass. Spent enough time in silicon valley for work.
Ouch! That would hurt the old pocket book! Iâd have to hold off on using straw for compost building in that case !
LA people! @Tinytuttle knows that it is âhighway 101â not âTHE 101â. There will never be peace on Earth⌠Sunni/Shia, NorCal/SoCal
You can have your 405 & call it whatever⌠âEl Cuatro-O-Cincoâ , but leave Highway 101 alone, itâs ours!
no way (Jose ) â Thatâll pick up who-knows what, from unkillable weeds, to roundup & nasty âweed & feedâ, unfamiliar dog poo, etc.
Thatâs the community spirit! Crackheads & fish entrails!
Thatâs what @oleskool830 & all the others keep sayinâ
That ainât CHIT! Could do that blindfolded just using the painted lines! LA is 10-20x worse!
Whatever highway we took out of San Diego to get to universal studios not sure I know it just skirted some army base to the west for reference seemed to be at least 8 -10 lanes wide if that helps
Must of been 5 then either the 101 or the 405 was years ago
@Tinytuttle. @cannabissequoia thinks itâs funny that we call our freeways âthe 405â instead of highway 405
