2020 Cannabis with Meesh

We’re so wet here that I can’t even mow till it dries out. The reefer plants have really loved it. Everything is beautiful. But, I suspect the bugs are next. Maybe we’ll start to dry out again soon. July is our rainy season. Which means yard work season. Uhhh, and I still have some damn virus hanging on. I don’t think I can get tested anywhere close to me. They closed them all. :rage:

Hey @meesh, your orange problem sort of looks like it may just be the early fan leaves getting less of the nutrition now and naturally turning. The others look a nice color green.

Well, I have lady bugs on the og kush. They are feasting on the aphids. It’s not a huge infestation but I’m still gonna tear out the Nasturtiums and spray everything with dr bronners soapy water. I think I can eradicate them

Spectral Tangerine looking perky and like she had a growth spurt

Your best bet will be a Castile soap and spray at dusk

I think you just summed up the meaning of life right there ! That’s a beautiful thought :dash: take a puff and pass it on :maple_leaf::guitar::sunglasses:

If you have ladybugs I dunno that I would spray them …they will eat the aphids no problem. It is their preferred diet

I only see 2 lady bugs. Don’t think they can handle them all. I’ll let them eat until this evening. After that they’ll have to find another plant out there to find food.

if they like the flavor of the aphids on your plant it is good sign I think. I know they targeted one that I had that was pest infested over several other choices. It was an exceptional plant…so there is that.

They have a discerning palate. Seriously

they certainly ate the ones on my sweet peas and would not touch the ones on the potatoes either …but that was decades back

Ladybugs do help but it takes thousands I have bought and released thousands but they won’t stay home for long . If you wet the plants down in the evening and turn the ladybugs out at dusk they will hang out longer . Great too see a swarm show up :sunglasses: My neighbors would dump pounds of ladybugs I would not spray as long they were feasting .

I heard somewhere  that spraying sugar water on them when you release them sticks the wings together & you’ve got captive ladies :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: doing your bidding.

:evergreen_tree:

So, those 2 lady bugs have eaten almost all of the aphids on the og kush since this morning. Came home from my client’s and I was shocked. The ladybugs are still feasting, so I’ll see if they stick around and eat them all. Like I said, it’s not a full blown infestation. If it were worse, I’d soap it up tonight. I honestly didn’t think they would get half of them in 4 hours, but they did. Regardless, I’m still gonna pull out the Nasturtiums tmw. And spray soapy water on the ground and og kush after just in case. So far, the aphids haven’t even brought the ants yet. I think it will be fine.

Where do people come up with this cruel stuff? They don’t fly at night, just put them out then and they are your captives without sticking their wings together. At least until morning. With the right food and if they haven’t finished by morning, they’ll “stick” around on their own

Or get them as larvae before they can even fly.

Great idea. They’re apparently still voracious eaters, even as larvae.

So as of this morning the ladybugs moved on. They cleared out 90 % of the aphids. Gonna be an easier clean up for me today.

Shit! @Howard.Crane it does mean a lot of bending to pull out the Nasturtiums. Kinda nervous. lol

I hear ya, lol. I have to go remove a lot of invasive weeds from the yard today, and I’m not even going to get healthier cannabis plants out of the deal

Maybe spray them with a bunch of salt and vinegar first and try to save the back some?
