Awesome! Can’t go wrong with 6 foot buds!

I’m getting super geeky on my plants now that they are budding. I walk around them and feel them up, sniff them for hours at a time. I can’t decide what thrills me more, the long spear type buds like the Cackleberry or the big fat buds like the blue dream. Because they are so fat and juicy, the 2 blues just make me feel really geeky inside and hopeful, although with the bud rot anxiety on top (which has now come into fruition). However, the long spirally 3 foot buds tap the true stoner inside me and a major desire to smoke. lol I do love that long lanky sativa lean, I anticipate the high like a crack head feels the crack before it’s even delivered.

Has anyone ever smoked Chocolope? I got more free fem seeds with my Blue Dreams. Really ambivalent about it. I just don’t think I’ll like chocolate bud for some reason. Usually stuff like that tastes like dirty hash to me. Any thoughts on Chocolate bud in general?

Wife got some from a shop. We didn’t like it at all. Just didn’t taste good and really that great. It could be how it was grown but since other strains from the same company where fire. I dunno…

Did it remind you of brick weed taste or dirty cheap earthy hash? Usually all the food flavored bud comes across like that to me. I don’t know why. Maybe I just have weird taste buds.

edit - by food flavored I mean cake, candy, cookies strains

:gear:  errrrrr [creaking noise]

seems like I did from some dispensary several years ago but it was obviously unmemorable beyond that  IIRC it was a DNA cup-winner & read about it in ‘Heart of Dankness’ :books:

From what I remember it was very earthy dirt tasting. It was a while ago but I just tossed it the trash.

So whatever the practice plants problem is with her super funky coloring. Bruce looks like this today… frosty af. Stress apparently did her good.

I may just end up liking this plant more than I expected

The Chocolope Chocolate pheno tastes dirty and flat and the the Cannalope pheno can be very grassy if not grown well. If you’ve ever tasted sweetgrass, that’s what it’s like. The Cannalope Haze however, takes the melon flavor to the sweet side and at it’s best can taste somewhat like Gelato #33. It would probably rival the Blue Dream in size, but not quite as much yield. For some reason the Cannalope has almost no smell until the end when it takes on a little orange blossom fragrance. It’s like the smell and flavor doesn’t come out until it’s cured.

Yeah, so I won’t be ending up with much of the blue gelato in the end. Just too indica leaning for my humidity. Picked out more rot today. Seems like this is gonna be a daily thing now, plus we have another heat advisory this weekend. It just can’t handle the humidity. I’m also stuck between a rock and a hard place with the bt sprays on it. Don’t really know what to do. BT sprays will put more moisture on it, but caterpillars will pounce if I don’t. I mean, if you shake any plant at any time at least 20 moths will fly out, so, eggs are constantly being laid and hatching. Crap. This is frustrating.

So Dad says he has a leaf blower. He’s gonna bring in by. I’m gonna try and blow the blue gelato dry after the bt sprays see if it helps any. Does that sound stupid or genius?

I’ll try anything right now. I’m gonna check back in this journal, but if I can just get most of those indicas through a few more weeks, I can grab them. Indoors they only go about 50 to 55 days. I know outside is different, but I don’t know what else to do.

So Dad is here. I have him on budrot duty, with the clippers and alcohol wipes. I just can’t stand to find anymore today. Hopefully a little surgery will help it from spreading. ugh… actually the leaf blower will help in the mornings blowing off the heavy dew. It won’t work miracles, but I think it will help. Like a hair dryer without the heat for the indicas. I just don’t want the rot to get into the stems, once that happens it’s really screwed.

Found a dying baby pillar on the cheese. Apparently, they really like the strain. At least they are babies and in a state of death and not eating.

Just keep cutting out that budrot and try different varieties next year for your outdoor projects. Black widow is a good one to grow outside

Yep. I already know that the heavy indicas won’t make it, but you won’t always know when it comes to hybrids. For example, the blue dream I have out there this year is a heavy leaning indica pheno. All of the Blue Dream I grew in the past had more hybrid like buds. Never had these really fat indica colas in the past. I mean they had nice fat colas, but more sativa leaning structure. Too dense, just won’t work here. I can grow long maturing sativas like a mofo though. If the caterpillars don’t get in them, they hold up to the humidity like champs.

Already anticipating the bud rot on these since I watched the buds form, does not make it any easier to watch my babies slowly deteriorate lol. Seriously, nurturing from a seed to a 6 to 8 foot plants with monster buds is more personal than it seems. It’s heartbreaking.

Update on gdp. It wasn’t bud rot, found a pillar in the bud. That’s inevitable, no matter how much I spray. Some will just get through.

Question for indoor growers- I’m researching outdoor bug zappers for the moths. Most of them use black UV light. Will this screw up my light cycle on my outdoor girls? I have no experience with lights of any sort and their effect on plants.

On another note. Found a wasp that got stuck on the Orange Goji and died. That’s a first. Last year the wasps were more interested in my sunflowers though. lol Oh and a termite. Those plants are so sticky now.
