2023 "Field of Dreams"

My turn! Shots of 2 afghanhammer F2 from the defunct tiki seedbank, chopped 2 weeks ago

They had a tough life, but still nice  Got cuts to run them for real indoor.

I didn’t get the terps I would of liked this year. Not yet anyways. See after 6-8 weeks in Groves. I was really spoiled last year with the IB and BBM.

Yes. Neither do I.

Cornholio I have no idea. Cobbing some sort of mummification for colas. There is a word I never get to use.

There are Cobb-things to report.

The Week-long Blanket-Ride, (2nd step of the process, involving a germination matt and towel) left me with 4 cobbs that had experienced inflated vac-seal bags, to one degree or another.

Each of these packs were Intact, and contained physical water.

Even the Parchment had a moist feel to it. So this is all a Positive sign that the moisture levels were good to begin with.

And the smell is the simplest proof that some kind of Funky reaction has transpired. Ooh baby it was ripe, sharp and acrid. A high-smell, unique to each strain, and if it were a musical note, the
Glass would be breaking. That kind of rarefied High.

So I’m stoked. They are getting a few hours to dry appropriately and I’ll re-wrap them for the long-term. Vac-seal and these ones are good to go.

Part II
The Panama Red Cobbs that were in the sous-vid for 47hrs, saw 2 of the 5 cobbs kind of loose that solid-vacuum integrity… so I’m airing those two-out before re-wrapping for the Blanket stage.

Sorry to dump this here on your page @FieldEffect, I’m just catching that

Thanks for the redirect Cole, true doh

Its Fields page. That is cool as f. Does it increase potency?

That is the question… I guess.
Its cool to see the interest spread, And the science must be logical if @FieldEffect is taking it for a ride lol
History rocks @ColeLennon

Working with moist bud 2023 vs cured bud 2022, has already shown big differences; all good !

Interesting. :100:

Also, lets be fair @ColeLennon, dead-weed in a jar is the main culprit.

Long-term storage is the real goal. The Panama Red plants grown this summer, were from Buds that had been frozen…

i dont think Seeds survive cobbing…

Not going to last forever in a grove bag either.

I’m definitely intrigued, but cobbing sounds like the male version of tribbing.

Missin and Field effect should rename the process to sous vide tomales or something.

Smoked some wonderdawg. Tastes like hay that someone shit on. I rarely smoke so everything tastes like shit. Maybe it will smooth out. High is very nice. Back of the eyes heavy sedation.

LOL I’m only doing this because you lured me into it

People think I understand stuff but I feel totally retarded most of the time. The more I learn the more I realize I don’t know.

I went through my early years of highschool on Mexican brick for $40 an ounce. Only started getting “chronic” later years and college. $50-$60 an eighth

Anyway, some piece of me wants to see what effectively bricking (carefully) primo NLD does to it. I really didn’t have a bad experience with the brick weed at all. Curious more than anything, so I’m giving it a shot. Seeing @MissinBissin do it and enjoy the results tipped me over the edge. Going to watch your videos @ColeLennon before bed

Anyway, my Cobbs are bundled up all cozy. We’ll see what happens. New Mexican Brick Weed *New and improved formula!

Def. increases potency, a lot depends on the initial quality and the temps/durations of the various steps taken (initial sweat, secondary sweat and cool cure) there was a member here that got tests done and showed it was more than 30% more potent if we’re using THC as a point of reference relative to the same flower from the same plant that was jar cured. Also check the thread on icrag that’s still going with hundreds of pages on de cobbing mon, lots of testimonials as to the profound effects. Personally, there was a huge difference in waiting 1 month versus 3 months when it got to the cool cure portion - made what was normally nice jar cured sativa landrace into lysergic stuff

Also, seem to work best for the pure NLDs

Haha. I find this as well, especially when I first stopped “combusting”, and then would try a puff or a joint. Granted, I didn’t have access to “the best, organic, well finished, dried, cured, good genetics” herb. Just black market average or worse. The stuff from the local dispensaries is garbage in more than one way.
The best I’ve had was (1) from probably 10 years ago-ish when those canadian online MOM places first started operating (very likely illegally?), Purple Kush, Pink Kush. Smelled and looked amazing, and even tasted “nice” (kushy, weedy after taste). (2) Maybe 5 years ago-ish, from an online dispensary, they had some “Muerty” (maybe a death bubba knock off), again delicious kush smell and taste, and the smoke was incredibly smooth. (3) I once tried to follow GML’s “insane flushing” regimen. Smoothest smoke I’ve ever grown I think.

I bet if we saw the material being used to make all these “street” concentrate, and the processes being used to “clean” them up (color correct, etc), we’d feel sick.

Someone mentioned a hay smell/taste in a thread I just read some of, and that they thought it was from under-dried cannabis. I wonder if I’ve been under-drying lately, or at least taking too long to dry. Stuff dries very slowly at around 60% rh and 60-65*F. Usually I find the smell starts to improve after bucking nugs off the stems, and while doing the final trim touch up.

I’m getting worse at growing cannabis, somehow…

Sorry for the rant @FieldEffect

I’m not even a smoker but it makes me sick to my stomach to grow a strain and have it taste like hay a horse pooped out. Even just dry, without a cure. I’m sure they will calm down and smooth out some. It does make you think that your doing something wrong. I could of used more water and flushed more. In my effort to get more dry off. I didn’t do this as much this year. Next year I’m going to put some river rock under my 30 gallon pots. Push water through them. That fucking Indiana Bubblegum and Blueberry muffin last year really spoiled me on taste and terps. :100:

That sounds like a good idea.

Turd Tamers has a certain ring to it until we have some “Field” reports @Coda

I’m anxious to taste these, but I’m in there with @US3RNAM3, a cure is still the best approach
