I put the light together for this a while back. (And recently posted elsewhere it was a 20w light. This isn’t the case I looked and it is an LL2250PF 1500ma driver) with a typical efficiency of ±89%
36x1.5=54 (54x0.89=48.06w)
They’re supposed to have an absolute Max current rating of 1380ma so nobody tell @cogitech what I’m running joking bro.
Added 2 fans in series on a 12v driver wired straight into the AC side of the sonoff TH16. (Thats to control the lights schedule and monitor the environment) to make sure they stay on 24h even when the lights off. One of those is extraction and the other circulation. They don’t half shift some air either.
The mini aero pot is made up of a 15w pump. I made a ring using an equal tee and some hose. Cut down the equal tee and the pumps screw in attachment. Added a small section of a ball point pen inside both pieces whilst I jubilee clipped it. Had to make them both shorter initially so the nozzles on the “Halo” sat below the net pots.
On that note the net pots are 2 inch diameter each.
It takes 2l of nutrient solution to submerge the pump but lie below the Halo.
I plan on wiring the pump to a sonoff basic so I can set loop timers as they grow. Starting much further apart and eventually ending up closer together.
@mr.sparkle kindly sent me some dark Sparks. (A rather large pack many thankyous) for an outdoor venture next year. I did ask if he’d mind if I tried a few in this and he didn’t so that’s what I’m doing.
They do look a mighty fine strain to do a micro grow with.
There’s still a few bits to finish up before I pop the beans. Make a carbon filter of sorts
Welcome aboard bro. Mind your head. There’s not much room on the way in Ive seen a few absolutely awesome micro grows on here. Wanna try my luck. Full setup should run about 85w (with the pump running) 70w without. Be interesting to see what can be pulled from it
The berry bomb and THC bomb will be going to my mates sooner rather than later. I’ll be running those next in my bloom room. So I’ll grab cuts back as I’m ready
I aim to entertain if nothing else. There’s every chance it’s all gonna go absolutely tits up but some people are smashing it. And I want some of that. They should be purply pinks and sticky and stinky this time with any luck
Will be interested to see how the little LPA(?) setup runs for you. I’ve seen some pretty massive autos grown in dwc/aero but it might be tough to dial things in at first.
Low pressure aeroponics? I guess you could call it that. With the spray pattern it’s probably more of a “water from below” system lmao. I wanna keep them small in here. That’s kinda why I opted to try the dark Sparks in there as they’re small. If all else and shit starts getting too big too quick. I’ll shock and stunt them. (I always manage when I don’t mean to)
I’ve been wondering the same thing. I’ve done a bit of reading that says you can trim the roots too. (It won’t matter too much if that stunts height growth in this instance but I imagine it may do)
The roots will get all matted together and stuff, but as long as they’re getting what they need it shouldn’t matter at all. You’ll definitely be working with them all as a single unit after a couple weeks
Wish me luck they are regular autos I think not feminised so there’s a chance I may have to untangle some of them when they show sex. Mr. Sparkle suggested I made another lid with a single pot on it. And pick the best girl and run that. What I do know is I’m gonna get them in water on the sky box tonight. They can start their journey now
No messing about. I’ve got no clay pebbles so I’ll make a base feed and wet some Coco to try and stop it falling through the pots. I’m hoping it will give me a small amount of buffer whilst I figure this aero shit too
This is on a wing and a prayer. 4 plants in a 1x1x2ft tent is ambitious. I’ve got a very minor plan of action in my head now. I’ll get the pump wired up to the sonoff basic tomorrow and start looking at schedules etc. Gonna go 24/0 for germing and once we got seedlings go to 20/4 for the duration for the lighting. Probably hand water the beans into the Coco first and let them get established slightly as it dries out. Then kick the pump on maybe twice a day till we have roots.
I have kind of been thinking it may be worth trying to keep the rootzone a bit wetter though. Usually = slower root growth which may help with the 4 pot system.
