A big bears grows and tribulations

One of My first auto’s ever was a seedsman freebee blueberry auto.
It was Ruddy and ugly, had no terps to speak of while growing. the smoke tasted like celery and burnt hair.
A lot of people I respect and hold in high esteem here on OG are growing auto’s, so logic tells me that this is not the norm.
I’d like to find an auto that produces modestly but has good terps and flavor.
Massive thc numbers arent necessary, but a nice toking buzz thats good for a 30 or 40 minute session without total psychosis.
Something to fill in during veg times.

I’ve tried a few variants of Blue Dream and hands down the very best I’ve ever tried is Blueberry Blast by Snow High Seeds. It’s blueberry haze overdrive, but with no harsh throat hit. The irritating skunk aftertaste present in most Blue Dream flowers has been toned way down until it’s a complimentary earthy note on the back end. (I’m growing some as part of my next run.)

I’ll definitely be looking that one up!
I’ve got designs on giving blue dream back it’s y chromosome.
I’ve heard and read that darkheart nursery has what is agreed apon as legit genetics. I figure it’s a good start.
I’m not much of a haze guy, but my misses loves to go astral tripping on that stuff.

Well I’m done feeling sorry for myself.
It’ll be months before I can afford the big set up and I’m losing money buying dispensary product.

I’ve got another donated 3x3,
a can exhaust,
some desk fans a blurple 300act watt light and enough materials to make 6 vero 18s powered 25 watts a piece.
In the make shift mom tent,I’ve got two really “floral” smelling pedigreed blue dream clones and two classic sour d clones stinking up the house.
For security I’ve put a payment down on 2 new security guards due born this spring.
A bit of info

My shepherds are great but they are friendly to the individuals I now want kept out

Lol I considered it but the shedding!
I know there are no bad dogs but the anatolan and caucasian shepherds are all but impossible to socialize.
That and the price. My two boerboels are from low scored parents. To dark or too long legged to meet show or breed standard. No medical issues just not up to AKC ideals.
You don’t get papers but you get a copy of the parents.

Here’s the mom tent. Not much has changed since the loss but I’m just happy to be growing.
My window sill Louisiana bell peppers are loving the 18 hr light cycle.
The dark heart sour d clones are a lot more aromatic than the last set. (Back two)
The blue dreams up front are textbook haze.

Currently I’m keeping sane with some sour banana sherbert grown by green and gold supply co.
I don’t smell or taste bananas or sherbert of any kind but there is a clear fruity note with some unmistakable sour diesel musk.
Its got a reasonable dry and cure but definitely commercial. I’m just happy to find something with flavor that packs a punch.

I’m a terrible camera guy but this bud has some spiral seashell foxtails, a trait I absolutely love in the diesel/chem world.
Nuleaf dispensary in S. lake Tahoe clearly has the areas top tier product.
I am hoping I have things in order for a late winter early spring harvest/seed run but time will tell.
Dread the thought, but I may have to go cheap and run hps/mh lights
@Sebring is paying it forward a thousand times over and has some premium sunshine daydream f2s heading my way. @oleskool830 has sent me some killer beans as well
Everybody keep in mind I did not lose my genetic inventory in the rip and as soon as I get my setup finished I’ll be gifting beans again.

Good hunting!

Thank you! These are beautiful!
Healthy striped and professionally packaged.
I could play with these all spring and summer.
Thanks for taking the time, and I must say that was an excellent grow journal.
Your thread serves as a plethora of info for anyone growing your progeny.

Good hunting friend and excellent choice in Cackleberry.

Give, asking nothing in return, and often you’ll receive more than you gave!
And thank you for the complements.

There are a few more rare/discontinued strains (non-Bodhi) that we’re working on finding breeders for too! So, we should have some more threads soon (and free beans to the community). :peace: :evergreen_tree:

Time to take cuts and make clones.

Dark heart’s Blue dream

Dark heart’s sour diesel

Some ripe(super hot) Louisiana bell peppers

Talking with dispensary staff, it looks like Reno will be completely ignored in the clone/seed market going forward. Personal grows have the same fight here with legality.

A bit of comparison between the chem 91#12 and the clone only sour d.
91

Sour d

91#12/Cali connection sour d

More dark heart sour d

I haven’t grown out any of the first bx to sour d but I’m already planning its second bx.
I’m a broken record on 91#12 but its basically it’s own set of disorganized backcrosses.
Homogeny won’t be difficult.
Right now the big difference is some plants going lanky and others more squat.
This could be easily be environmental though.
I’d need to grow a large sample of seed stock in like conditions to know for sure.

Big thank you to @MomOnTheRun
All that hard work up in Alaska.
I’ve been working hard on getting up to the Ketchikan/Juneau area with the misses and settling down.
My kind of people.
Pennywise is a great gift with the cbd

Wow! It’s been a bit since last post let’s see.

We’ve got clones of my dark heart sour-d and blue-d
Rooted and in their nursery to be shown later on.

I’ve got the 2 b/d and s/d moms trimmed and up, potted from 2 to 3 gallons, and ready for flower.

I wanted to show a technique I’ve used in the past to encourage side branches to catch up to the main.

I pinch the main cola stem and bend slightly, like a super crop deal, at the hight the side branches seem unable to over come

It panics the plant just enough to redirect hormones to side and lower branching.
In my experience this gives the rest of the plant time to reach the same level as the main while the main cola heals.

I’ve given extreme defoliation a chance and I’m not completely convinced, however I have decided that removal of the less productive lower branches does increase yield slightly but more importantly increases air circulation.

Next we have a bit of rednecktech
Clu 48 12/12’s at bargain eBay prices were suggested by a wise member here I’m too stoned to recall.
I believe it’s 5 for 63.00 which is a steal despite not knowing the bin. Also the wait on shipping was a slight drag.
The heat sink was 11.00 on digikey and the Chinese
“70 watt” driver was a solid $3.48
On the killawat at the wall I’m pulling 55 watts average on each driver with a slight current fluctuation telling me that this is a constant voltage driver.
No worries though I’ll install a fuse on the output side.
This is just a mock up

I’m looking at doing 6 of these in Vero 18 3000k and 6 in clu48 1212 in 3500k.
As well as upgrading two anjit Chinese cob units similar to what I had before.
I do not condone others using parts as cheap as I am and wish to note that the drivers will be replaced as I can afford them.
The savings so far is 1330 watts for @ 500 dollars
