A couple weeks at the lake with Doug

I suspect I was right where you are at one time in my life.
My old uncle, who everybody but me and him thought were carbon copies of each other, told me the secret for getting things in life was to hold it close, let your mind go back to it often, dream it.
Somehow life throws it back your way.

Not necessarily. The tank has a air bladder. Itā€™s possible that water has permeated the bladder rendering it ineffective in maintaining pressure. If the bladder is compromised it may still ā€œholdā€ a certain pressure but wonā€™t allow a higher pressure to build and or hold. Itā€™s the compressed air on the dry side of the bladder that creates the pressure experienced at the fixture I.e shower/faucet.

I hear ya bud. Living in Toronto, at my age and with my profession the only way I am able to afford a house is by taking over my Grandmotherā€™s home after looking after her during the final years of her mental clarity before alzheimerā€™s and dementia took her from us. They lived here since 1967, and my Grandfather was both a machinist and a carpenter so the interior is mostly hand built. He ran a company that outfitted LICKā€™s Homeburgers and many diners with their counters; so itā€™s like a Peter Sellers film in here with diner countertops anywhere a countertop can be.

Growing up in this city I thought this was all achievable but as the years progressed most folks that grew up with me here had to leave the GTA to even start to afford to buy a home, or they live at home again with their folks, or left the province all together.

Fuck, a friend who bought a condo in the early 2010ā€™s sold this 1 bedroom box in a tower of concrete and was able to afford a massive property and house by moving to Saskatchewan and working online from said mansion

Not 100% sure. It probably does mean itā€™s ok. If the line is inside the pvc pipe couldnā€™t you take it out and feed a new one in if you need without digging it all up?

Dam Iā€™d thought the same thing fish a new line through the pvc but super Doug would of thought of that before digging to China Iā€™d of thought!

There is no way to feed it through, the pipe does a 90 deg turn towards the lake. Itā€™s also not PVC protected the way down to the lake. This place was built in 1970 and a Reno was done.a few years later adding the sun room and jacking it up to put in a full basement. Because of the depth of the line underground the PVC would have been put in to protect the pipe. Just no shortcuts to get to it unfortunately.

Donā€™t feel bad Doug. 3 years ago I took a vacation and ended up having to paint the house.

Itā€™s all good bud, I am accustomed to this, it goes with having a second home. This is going to be good really since for the first time I scored a second week off in a row. That means while normally this would kill my vacation in this case I will just get all the shit work done and than be able to relax instead of going straight home

So for tonight I made some Maple Bacon chicken with corn and some store bought salads. Had to do the Maple Bacon on Canada day :grinning:
