A Shadey spot to grow, Perpetual organic no till

As with all things practice is key, once you learn to control the air pressure and paint flow you can pull lines as thick as a hair by getting very close to the substrate surface with a very fine needle of 0.18 of a mil.

I use automotive acrylics paints in semi transparent and transparent. Inks are good as they atomize better but their colour fastness is not brilliant and they fade quickly even under uv clear coat.

well I just tripled what I knew about airbrushing.
I learned plates, and separating colors from setting up silk screen projects.
See the fine needle thing I actually envisioned it wrong.
I thought for a small line ( i just realized how difficult this may be to explain in text.)
say you lay down a black strip . then you cover that with another color but just a little
bit thinner so just a little strip/line of the black would show and thatā€™s how you got a thin line.
of course I came up with that false assumption as a kid. and just sort of thought airbrushing was that fucked up and hard to do. and took a 4 d chess approach. lol
I am plunging into a few mediums right now one being resin, they use allot of this paint called mica, itā€™s actually as dope as auto paint or close to it. Not sure if those would clog up airbrush spray heads. still nice paints.

Resin would not run through an airbrush, for my airbrushes the paint needs to be the viscosity of 2% skimmed milk. For fine detail like water, heres a pic on a Harley horn cover I painted.

It was done for an ex navy guy from an old 1950s newspaper cartoon. The coin is a 5 cent piece for scale. The guys ships name is on the hat and on the shoulder is Canada and his radio mans bage underneath it.

Aye aye sailor.
Living at sea for long periods of time has a strange effect on people. I hope the painting is splash proof
Jokes aside the quality and sheene on the picture is amazing. Top work @Shadey :+1:

nah i meant the mica paint it is not resin based but it is added to resin.
Found some people using it.

ƒk its a clear coat not like a heavy resin epoxy or similar.

That looks like fun stuff, it would probably not go through my detail brushes but certainly would on my 2.3 richpens and 3.5 iwatta. I can spray pearl paints through the iwatta which are quite thick.

I guess he is using a SG100 or equivalent urethane or waterbourn clear paint base as I did not see any hardener added. I have used small metal flake in urethane clear paint base.

This helmet I did as a freebie for a ride for the cure auction in Cape Brettons, Thunder in the Mountains bike fest. Gords Racing provided the helmet for free as well.

It has ice pearl in the black parts and green and yellow candy on the white, as Cape Bretons flag is white, green and yellow, and a very high Scottish population so I went with a tribal/keltic dragon and knots.

Hey whatā€™s up dude? I love anything to do with original art. You have a nice hand. Drug around a cold body shop. Pops was a body/paint guy. Very cool. I learned how to survive in prison slinging ink. My brother now. He had a scholarship here weā€™re Tupac went for a bit. Threw it away for crap.

Anyways very cool stuff. Hope youā€™re feeling well. Iā€™ll have to show you some of our stuff we sent home. I kinda hate to go in that box. Thereā€™s no medals. Damnit. Lolā€¦ Be safe out there.:+1:

Thanks for the kind words guys, the keltic knots were an interesting learning experience and caused my taurrets syndrome to express itself fully :persevere: :joy:

Worth it in the end though, as the helmet made $570 in the auction for, ride for the cure. I got some good advertising from it as well, and picked up a hockey mask job to paint from it, so a win win for all concerned.

We have sold the house subject to replacing the hot water tank, securing the dishwasher to the underneath of the counter top fully, it moves half an inch side to side.

Getting the heat pump furnace cleaned, tested and anything that looks dodgy replaced and after we move out a deep clean, as the buyer has a pet hair alergy we canā€™t believe they are not concerned about the roof which saves us about 6 thousand.

They may get that for free if the house insurance company is going to accept the repairs are covered on the insurance.

So they are willing to pay 490,000 if thatā€™s all done, woooohoooo.

We have been looking at properties with either sea views or lake frontage, but now Mrs Shadey is getting sick of her job, although it pays well, I said at the beginning, we should clear the mortgage and she can retire, but she says 60,000 a year working from home is hard to give up even if it is only another 18 months before she is 65.

This last couple of weeks 2 of the top managers have been let go and Staples is changing a lot of things internally, so she now wants out, which is easily done and affordable now. I told her to ask if she could get a voluntary redundancy package from them, and then go on EI before taking her Canada pension lol, I doubt it will happen as they are constantly looking for tele sales people.

Hereā€™s a few properties we have been looking at this one in BC between Vernon and Kelowna a $475,000 fixer upper, but would be worth nearly a million when done but we would have no money and Mrs Shadey would need to find a job as we would need about a 50,000 mortgage on top of the 80,000 left on the one we have. The view would be worth the risk though and we would be 40 minutes from our daughter and her BF.

It was obviously a grow op in the basement you can still see the light hooks in the ceiling and circles on the floor from the pots, exhaust ducting holes in the walls lol.

Then on the shortlist in NS we have.

The only problem with this property is it in the middle of but fuck nowhere and from what I can see on google earth, gravel roads for about 30 minutes of driving to get to a paved rd, which could be a nightmare in winter. There seems to be another building next to it but there is no mention in the description, and it says no garage on the property. Options to sub divide the land as well with 3.1 acres or build some rustic holiday cabins for air B and B rentals. Price drop on it today by 50,000 the interest hikes are definitely cooling off the market.

This is Mrs Shadeys favourite atm, I book marked it 3 weeks ago as a possible but we wanted water views and this was supposed to be Mrs Shadeys final home, I am not in on that reality yet lol. This has no water view but only about a KM from a nice beach, already has a half built cabin for air B and B wired not sure about plumbing, but as they dropped the price 75,000 last week its looking very appealing and very close to 2 major towns Bridgewater and Liverpool as well as several of the best beaches in NS either side.

Congratulations on the sale bud, very cool. As much as I love BC I would say be careful when looking there for a home. My mother, sister and a bunch of family lives in BC. The past few years have been crazy with wild fires and they show no signs of stopping. Just something to think about. Still lots of great properties out there, just another factor to consider when looking at an area.

Cheers man, yes the fires were already having us re think this one and to be honest it would stretch us financially and I am tired of being stressed about money, debt free and a hundred thousand cash in the bank is more appealing at our age now, although I could probably manage the restoration myself taking my time. It actually says in the description there is a lot of new construction in the area due to wildfires lol. Not sure if the houses burnt down or it became more appealing after the trees all burned away making it easier to build. Air quality is a big problem there and again your 40 to 60 minutes from anywhere Mrs Shadey could find work, and although the winter snows are not to bad she hates driving on it as they dont plough the snow off the roads out there they just smooth out the bumps and turn the roads into ice rinks, she would have a mental break down after the first winter lol.

Iā€™m glad it sounds like things are moving forward for you but Iā€™m really surprised at this petty nonsense they are asking for.

Granted the market is changing but around here they would be laughed out of the deal. ā€œMust pop 4 screws into the counter or this half million dollar deal is dead.ā€

What a joke.

LOL, yeah and they use sand instead of salt. Get used to tire chains, lol. Itā€™s really a shame because it is amazing out there. I know that you canā€™t do any kind of outdoor burning in Kelowna right now. My sister was in Merritt and my mother is in Kamloops. Air quality has been an issue.

I know right, as the realtor was going through the list I was waiting for, the hole in the roof will need fixing and more insulation added but no, they are not worried about the roof, just the dishwasher, hot water tank, a heat pump service and a deep clean, WTF ehh. I said to the wife, for that money I will buy them a new dishwasher lol.

Its funny as they are Indian and we didnā€™t know. In the afternoon, before they checked the house out 4 hours later, I cooked a curry. The wife had some clothes left out, that she was deciding to pack up in boxes. One of which was a beautiful Saree my daughter brought back from India for her, when she went walk about the planet at 18 years of age by herself, scaring the crap out of us lol.

The wife shouted at me when she came out her office, we got people coming to view the house and your cooking stinky curry, whats wrong with you!!!

I think, they may think we are British Indians emigrated here lol, and dont want to haggle as they know we might be as stubborn as them in the haggling process lol.

Just had a call from the insurance company that is recommending a clean up of all the inside of the roof and new shingles to be put on. I should here from the insurance adjuster in the next couple of days as to whether they will do it on the insurance.

Not a problem if they wont and only cost 500 on the deductible if they do. I need to check how much the next property insurance will be if we make a claim but it would be a nice present to the buyers to have a new roof for free for not haggling over the price, we were prepared to drop to 480,000 so we got a 10,000 bonus anyway.

The universe is making me very happy and grateful today, no reason I cant pass it on to help others out as well.

Yes were I them the roof would be a haggling point. At least a few grand off the top.

The rest is just silly.

Like I said the market around here is changing but until recently if you had any conditions you werenā€™t even considered a serious buyer. Subject to financing subject to inspection: not acceptable.

Coulda worked out for you: delicious curry smell, drape the saree over a chairā€¦

It was the same here as well for a while and the realtor said, when we buy we should consider a stealth inspection and do no conditions if there was anyone else interested, but the prices are dropping by as much as 20% in one go here on some properties. I think we have timed it right with nearly 5 weeks left to move out and got top dollar for our house, and prices are dropping everywhere else.

I think it did for sure at an unconscious level, also when they looked in the pantry all my curry ingredients are at eye level and take up an entire meter long shelf for themselves, so I dont have to bend my neck looking for them, the universe works in wondrous ways lolā€¦

Not so much for our neighbour as the property lines are a bit weird for the septic field, our property line goes behind his garage and then cuts back, if they put up a fence he is screwed. He is a bit country red neck and very down to earth, a lovely guy who will help anyone out if he can, but lacking understanding and having fears of people with different ethnic persuasion. Maybe an opportunity to learn that other cultures are not so different as he thinks.

Moved house, itā€™s been pretty stressful, as I injured my back and tore my piriformis muscle the day after the hurricane, slipping on some leaves. Spent 3 weeks lying on a bed not able to move more than 6 ft without incurring a tremendous amount of pain, which would take hours to calm down.

My poor wife had to do all the packing pretty much as well as look after me. The day we were supposed to move in the sellers lawyers said, we couldnā€™t complete that day, with some crappy exscuse, so I had to lay down the law of the contract, and told them our stuff was on the truck and needed to go in, or the moving guys would be dumping it on the front lawn. We would also be moving into a hotel for 2 weeks as thats what all the removal companies are working on time wise before they could try again. I am sure she has ptsd from all the stress.

It was a little scarey as I thought it could be my neck causing it, as my neuron surgeonā€™s words of being in a wheelchair from any bump or bang came back to haunt me. If that pain had not relented I would have probably topped myself after 6 months.

I am on the mend now still have sciatica pain, but everyday itā€™s getting easier.

Apart from all the stress we have settled in, the place needs a ton of work, but it will get done, first we have to decide what we will be converting into bedrooms and bathrooms. The place is full of nooks and crannies, so walls will be coming down and doors closed off, as well as widening the staircase.

I think there is a closed of room or space between some rooms walls, time will tell.

Today I managed to walk the length of the property 100m up from the road and then turned left and walked roughly 500m along the top of the property line until I found a maker pin. We have a pond and 2 or 3 brooks connecting up to a bigger brook, that marks the boundary lines with the properties along the rd.

I have about 8 acres of forrest with old big trees, a pond, some stone bridges over the brooks, saw 5 deer, and a bald eagle camped in a lightning struck old oak. Lots of old fallen trees so no need to buy fire wood, just need a portable generator or a new gas chainsaw, plus a lawn tractor with a small trailer to haul the logs back.

We have 3 separate basements, the middle one has a oil furnace and is tall enough for a couple of grow tents, so should be warm enough in the winter to grow down there, and have plenty of co2 from the oil furnace. I can duct any excess moisture or heat through a small wall hatch.

I will get some pics as soon as I can find the box with my camera in it.

I have an old wood floor workshop about 16x20ft and a wood floor barn that is about 30x30 ft with a 30x10 ft lean to with a polythene side which might make a half sided green house or car port over winter.

I will be ordering some new tents soon and hope to start growing asap, lots of space in the woods for a few hundred plants lol.
