Ability to download entire grow logs into a PDF file?

I know this would demand extra capacity of the servers but it would be cool to have this feature available, if only for the maker of a thread and regular members, with an ability to deselect individual posts so any irrelevant banter can be excluded from the PDF.

So the download would only need to happen once, then the PDF can be shared via wetransfer, email, torrent, dropbox or whatever.

A maximum number of downloads can be set.

Mainly thinking about it as a way to backup grow logs…

Thank you for your consideration. :+1:

And thank you to everyone involved with the upkeep of the site.
We’re grateful for the many hours you invest in keeping this going!
And all the donors and sponsors, thank you.

Not what you’re asking but you can download growtracker from GitHub. It’s completely offline so there’s no way for it to be traced. You can set all your parameters. Set multiple gardens up. Feed schedules. Amounts etc. I’d highly recommend. You can also export the gardens and send them on my friend.

I believe there are ways to do that yourself, with out the site having to add the feature.
I can’t remember what I used before, I am sure someone with knowledge on the subject will come and enlighten us.
If not, tomorrow I can try to figure out how I did it before. :slightly_smiling_face: :v:

You would not be able to exclude post from the log, but most web browsers can save a web page as a .pdf….

If you want to save a long thread from OG, press ctrl+p to open a printer friendly version, wait until fully loaded and save as PDF.

Does not exclude unwanted posts but is readily available.

I think that is the way I have done it before. Thanks for posting that. :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

100% what @allotment said. I have my logs and it works perfectly. You can edit the PDF to get rid of unwanted stuff as you see fit.

@Rogue

You can try adding /print to the end of URL… Same effect has pressing Ctrl+P from the topic view.

And then export / save it from the print dialogue into PDF file.

For extremely long topics, you may need to add ?page=2 to the end of URL.

I pulled my BOG journal with 1743 posts and tons of pics with no trouble  It’s a great way to back up your stuff.
