Those do look nice bro, way to grow
Babies are starting to look like real plants. They’re a little light right now so I added a small amount of build a soil ammendments.
This cloner pisses me off so much. Day 5. Daily water changes. Is there maybe too much chlorine in my city water? @JoeCrowe you’re a smart guy and do things hydro, how do you clone?
I use regular water in my cloner at 18C with nothing else in there but water. You could try filtering your water?
They got kind of beat up, I even dried one of them out and rehydrated it, as well as a rat chewed on one of them for sure. Other than that, they’re going to be fine!
Just stagnant water? Or is there a hose bubbling away in there
Still growin
I put another cheese seed in one of the failed spots. A have 2 (Angola Red x Columbian Black)x(Hillbilly Skunk x Big Detroit Energy) seedlings that sprouted in the other failed spots. And a regular Hillbilly Skunk seed in the now vacant 3 gallon from one of the reversal plants I chopped.
Your kitty cat helping you there
Ooooh yeah he’s my co-grower for the homegrown. Always needs to be in there if I am. He’s spent quite a few years sitting in front of a grow tent. Loves to sit under the outdoor monsters as well
Are you having damping off issues? I had that happen with all of my Beldia seeds. I’ve been trying a couple of remedies to see if it improves my odds. One is pouring boiling water over a little bit of soil to use in the solo cups for seedlings and the other is putting a bit of cinnamon over where the seed will sprout. Apparently when you boil water and pour it over the soil it kills off the things that cause damping off and cinnamon will also help keep those things at bay according to other growers around OG.
Yah there’s an airline T with a high grade stainless nut on it for weight. Constant bubbles with the stems in the water.
Any germination issues I’ve had I’m chalking up to watering issues. The first batch I had too much faith in the bottom reservoir keeping the topsoil moist. The tap roots shriveled up. The second batch I over compensated and was keeping the top soil too moist. Seems to be working now that I’m finding a balance.
We got some preflowers today! A female Snake Venom x NL2
And a male Big Detroit Energy x Hillbilly Skunk. He’s getting chopped and I’ll put in another seed of the same kind.
Having a fun time over here. That pine mulch I used seemed to have thrips in it…as now I’ve been finding them on the babies. Always something I swear. On top of that I’ve completely thrown in the towel with the cloner. Stems started rotting and the leaves up top had been browning out since they were put in. Probably the fourth time I’ve tried to get results from that thing. I hate rooting plugs but they at least work for me.
No new preflowers today. Decently uniform between the 3 remaining Big Detroit Energy.

Bummer man. Things can get frustrating at times. I fought that pm for awhile and found Joe Crow’s thread and the sulfur. Fricking saved my life I swear. So I know how it feels. I have one of those oxy cloners I believe it’s called. I added an extra air stone and put the pump on a timer 15 on 15 off to help with maintaining water temps. But I get damn near 100% with plugs and even straight in dirt. You are from Michigan If I remember correctly. Look into potters gold soil. My healthiest clones are done with that mix. I use that soil religiously and have never had an issue with it unlike others I have tried aka ocean forest roots organic and so on. It’s expensive but it’s worth it.
I’ll look out for potters gold. I’m usually super frugal with soil and just mix something up from used soil. Last spring I tried out that veggiedoo 301 mix and it was AMAZING. I mean just crazy fast and thick growth. I might pick up a few bags of that here soon. About $12 per cu ft but it’s water only. I’ve never had success cloning into soil and have tried a few times. Always ends in mold and no clones. What environment do you put them in cloning in soil?
Humidome with heat mat set at 77 degrees. Very little water in the dirt. I use mini solo cups. And add only about a shot glass full of water. And mist daily a few times spray the inside of humidome too
Is that a shot glass full of water sitting in the dome? Poured into the tray? Into the cups?
