I have 10 big beauties to trim this week…sore hand incoming

I’m done my last the Indiana bubblegum just have to remove nugs from stems in next couple days. I really don’t think I will dry trim. Wet trims good for me. Might see how the ibowl trimmer does on a little.

Try any of the bubblegum yet? I had a plant with that flavor before and I crave having it again

Growth is starting to explode. Pretty sure roots have gone through the pots and they’re trapped into the perlite now. Hopefully the Chocolatina decides to reverse for me otherwise I guess it will be a decent flower run.

It’s also always cool to see the difference in growth when one seed gets a 5gal and the other is in a 4inch square pot. Popped the same day.

Heavy duty fruity coming down today. So so sticky. I wonder how she’ll hash.

Really nice brother, I started on the Indiana Bubblegum today removing nugs from stems and smoked a huge green hit off my pipe. Very sticky very dank and dense. Definite floral whiff on the immediate inhale and smooth as slow jazz. Classic indica buzz is powerful but not overwhelming. Settles in behind your eyes very nicely and euphoric body buzz. No couchlock . :sunglasses: :metal: :metal: :metal: :metal: :metal: :fire: :peace_symbol: :100:

I like the style your using with the fabric pot and the root breakthrough to the perlite layer. I’ve been tossing around how I was going to do my indoor. I like that concept it’s like what my 30-gallon fabric pots do on top of my soil garden plot. Do you notice how the roots like it? Does it speed up and benefit the dry times? :peace_symbol: what benefits have you noticed by this growing style? any negatives?

For organics I really like bottom watering. I run my pots consistently moist once they root into the perlite. I fill the tubs up to maybe 2 inches below the top of the perlite and then the pots wick it up. I added water to the tubs over a week ago and they’re still moist. Once the roots grow down and have that constant water the plants really jump. This is my first go with this exact set-up but I have made bottom fed buckets that worked the same way on a smaller scale. It’s very low maintenance and I think the plants love it.

So far only negative of the big open tubs of perlite is the humidity. Maybe if I cut some black trash bags to seal up the reservoir they would help. Would probably come out really ghetto looking though

I sit my fabric pots in a rectangular container just a little bigger than the bags, but same height, it slows down evaporation because almost no airflow inside container but still plenty aeration.

Bottomwatering 2-3 cm / 1 inch every day, or every other day seems to be the sweet spot for me currently. I can easily leave it for a week to a month without plants complaining, depending on the weather.

But that’s with companion crops though, they make everything way more robust and resistant against draught, the companion crops will die first if you completely stop watering, and they’ll decompose and feed the soil, protecting and feeding the cannabis. I’ve gone over a month without watering and had zero issues. Some of the companion crops died back and the cannabis slowed down a bit in the last week, that’s all.

Your humidity won’t be so high without the perlite, because it’s gonna be risky once you’re flowering unless you have a heavy in-out flow going on with fans and weather is dry.
You can get a dehumidifier, but it makes no sense if you can simply remove the perlite.
But might be excellent for vegging though.

Thanks for creating this growjournal, there’s so many different ways of doing things, it’s fascinating! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

This Chocolatina clone was left to survive all summer and she is just about finished. This is the clone I am reversing indoor right now for my fem seed run. I’ll grab a pic of her in the greenhouse today or tomorrow. Big baseballs on her. My old buddy said he woke up on the kitchen floor a few minutes after he tried this stuff the first time.

Thanks it’s been a hell of a year. These plants got neglected more than I’d like to say. Sure shows that these clones don’t mess around

Remarkable try and think back even though you neglected it and make some notes. That result visually is Stellar.
