Acapulco Gold Repro

I knew I was forgetting something! @Pigeonman your beans came back to me “return to sender” on Friday (good reason to use a real address for those who are comfortable doing so), and I’ve been so busy I forgot to get on touch.
Can you resend your addy please? I don’t want them to be misdelivered, so I want to confirm thati had it right.
I’ll get em out again this week.

I top and train everything, the Zipolite Oaxacan x 1968 Acapulco Golds were all topped at the 4th set of true leaves and have yielded like Champs. I topped the hell out of a Oaxacan x Malawi and pulled over 6zips with only 5 weeks from seed before flip in a 5gal.

A question on the stretch, was the 6x stretch related to the pot size they were in? So did you up pot them before flipping the lights or did you keep them in smaller containers?

Doubt it. They were in 1gal (fabric) containers believe it or not!

By the end, I wouldn’t necessarily say they were “rootbound”, but they certainly filled out their shoes. I didnt get much fussiness about the pot-size…. Although, if anyone wants to nitpick, I suppose that could explain the couple intersex plants that I had to cull early on :smirk:
But anecdotally, everything else finished with no issues. My only note about the smaller pot size was that they drank a lot FAST, but ironically preferred it on the drier side

@Tejas

Sorry, somehow I always forget to tag the person I’m responding to

For what it’s worth I’ve got plants in 2G pots that quadrupled in stretch.

I lost one. I have a cloning tray and was told seedlings do not need to be under any special protection so I left it off. I guess the sprout was not all that big and with the surface drying out it wilted. When I checked I could see it barely had the length to dig into the soil. Have the dome on now and the other three are looking ok, a little small but as long as they are still hanging in there I am happy. They will get big yet.

Here’s a comparison between AG (left) vs Upstates Oaxacan

First thing I wanna say: if you have some of those Oaxacans you should pop those :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Second, AG is probably gonna go 6-8wks longer than these Oaxacans. So I’m not gonna make an hasty assumptions about resin/quality until dried, cured, and smoked.

Been listening to Notsodog talk about Haze on the Breeders Syndicate podcast — and he mentioned how some of the best haze cuts are UGLY and virtually resinless… but will take your head off! So one can only hope haha

edit: all the Oaxacans are this frosty, this wasnt a cherry-picked pheno.

Also ignore the seeds — had a herm from a modern line  Gonna have to salvage, then reveg after this run

These are some Leggy plants! The “Lambchop Twins” reacted to a 12/12 schedule by leaping skyward, inches per day!

After a full week 12/12 they appear completely indifferent to the concept of sex. Never heard of it, just gimme them photons!

Well, They’ve got nearly seven feet free above them and I have a couple of gnarly LEDs so, let’s party! I ain’t scared a no Sativa! [he said…]

For the record, they are each getting 30-35 DLI at 12/12, average PPFD 800. I’m feeding GH Trio @ 50%.

The closest one is in a micro Octopot and has just hit the reservoir. Not as yellow as she looks, my lights talkin. The other plant is in my own supersoil and seemed to relish the transplant.

I really like the aroma of #2 the lanky one, it reminds me of the days when I would sift through an lb. for my favorite phenos. The first thing that came to mind On the stem rub is sweet butter nut toffee and a mellony sweet fruit lingering, very pleasent… exciting !! Almost time to get a few cuts rooted and find a good spot outside for these.

Grace and Peace!
