Those types were also found in the OHaze over 20 years ago i remember seeing peoples OHaze grow threads with plants just like that but you dont see OHaze plants like this now.
my point is what is best for the locals is more money for their product. sure, to everyone here its bs that there is no pure thai or columbian anymore, but to them maybe not. they brought those genetics in im assuming to grow bigger buds worth more money. we really need to hear from someone who is from thailand if they are upset about the genetic lines being polluted. the rest is just us projecting our own desires (imho).

go take a look at flower powers haze he grew that came from mad mac , and co , its just like that , as are mad macs haze plants he got direct from sam , these type s are definitely still around ,

maybe you could grow a haze plant someday , you seem to be the worlds biggest authority on them , but you are still yet to bite the bullet and grow a pure haze that hasnt got nl in it … .

it depends who you ask - there isn’t’ necessarily a prevailing cannabis culture in Colombia (like rastas in jamaica), whereas Thailand is a bit different depending on where you are. It’s just short-sighted genetics wise, and penny-wise pound-foolish money wise. Now that there’s a landrace renaissance and the markets are beginning to thaw out, legalization and cross border shipments will become standard and the real deal pure stuff will be the caviar crops not razzle dazzle or cookie crunch

If I’m looking for Haze selection / strains / phenos / hybrids that are not terrifyingly psychedelic but are still electric, clear, and euphoric and close to the “original”, does anyone have any suggestions? I am going to try growing Haze next year outdoors in a cold temperate climate. Maybe I shouldn’t be growing Haze in that context, but I want to see for myself what makes you all so passionate about it that you are willing to devote your lives to it, after reading through the whole thread.

Check out white buffalo…they have a bunch of strains consisting of original Haze, seedsman Haze, c5, Columbian Black, Angola Red, Lao hanh, Haze 19, Malawi, Bandaid haze…

Fortunately the pure Thai does still exist, I can’t speak for Columbian , but there is a few on OG growing traditional varieties in Thailand. I know that the general consensus is that everything has been skunked but it’s worth understanding that broad leaf varieties just don’t work outside in the tropics, they get to a foot tall and rot long before they get to finish so adding these type of genetics often just doesn’t make sense because it doesn’t improve anything imho. Indoors however it’s a different story.

A lot of the old lines like Thai / Colombian / African are still being grown by people your just not going to find them online most are not interested in forums.
Talking of Thai i have seen a few different lines from Zomia being grown by people even some Cambodians and to be honest they dont look right Stain posted that they looked Skunked is a good way to describe some of them.
The Thai line called Kroeng Krawia from Zomia looks like the real deal old school Thai if your interested in a Thai Shade it could be worth your effort to do a little research.

Clear highs you will get from real landraces, not from childish Haze polyhybrid marketing bullshit.
Strains like Thai x THH or Oldtimers x Thai etc. are your best options for haze hybrids with clear highs.
Terrifying schizophrenia inducing herb you will get only from hybrids like NH and other indica infused Haze or thai genetics, like THH is probably too.

It’s so drastically narrowed and caricatural that I’ve to post. NH is the most elastic bitch I’ve ever met in breeding, you can do whatever you want with it and she follow. A lot of people don’t like it specifically because she’s a versatile backbone. “Indica infused” hhhh, take the Kalimist by example and dare to say it’s not a sweet girl with all type of profiles, even the more sensitive ones.
Also, the THCV intolerance (by example) has nothing to do with botanical varieties. It’s a matter of receptors.
