I’ll give you the quick rundown, rewind to the early 2000s. Travelling through the east coast of Aus, collecting all the seeds I could. Bred some nice hybrids with late 90s skunk x nimbin madness, prehaze types but come home devastated one day to find a housemate’s paranoia has destroyed a couple of decades worth of genetics. Literally left with nothing but a few spare seeds from my indica collection, what I could find on the floor and had to begin again. Sativa collection is still intact but all the hybrids get swamped out pretty quickly.
Anyway let’s get the party started here’s some pics from that mission to recreate what one silly housemate destroyed in seconds! Miss my old time indicas but at least I still got the hazeys and all my Aussie bob stains
Anyone who has other Aussie strains please feel free to post them in here. It would be nice to make a catalogue as there aren’t many Aussie strains out there in the breeding community and I quite enjoy the look of those truffula trees
Nice hazey sativa coming up strong, difficult to get a perspective on how big this guy is. This is definitely the pine-lime side of the flavour spectrum
Original Aussie duckfoot, different to wallyduck’s strain I call this one Dr Quack. She’s a breeder so don’t criticise me for leaving the boys hanging around
This lady is a redbeard sativa pheno, very grapey fruity taste. The pademelons were nibbling at her tips, but she just kept growing taller. Bit nuked from the heat but the bud was nice
This is the oldtimer Aussie purple sativa, it’s stanky and high yielding. Probably up there with my faves of all time. There’s a couple of variants, I’m still trying to bring down the flowering time on this guy but it’s easily one of the lowest maintenance 'erbs I’ve had the pleasure of meeting
Dad’s golden bud, it’s in the same family as the purple sativa above, but they are cousin strains, this one from the Mid North coast of NSW. Tall graceful buds and high yield of hashy heads
Grape haze, this one is extra special. Can’t get enough of this strain but it can be a pain with long flowering time and moderate yields. The smoke tastes like passionfruit. There’s a few different phenotypes of this guy but generally goes deep purple if grown past 10 weeks. Absolutely delicious. Most likely to have ancestors from India and Thailand, I’ve heard that the hippies used to pick through bags of birdseed to score seeds back in the day
S.E. Queensland Mango haze, stock standard commercial strain from anywhere north of the border. These pictures don’t do it justice as this was a late winter crop, this plant just grows and grows and grows. It’s rather immune to cold weather as well so the long flowering time isn’t necessarily a hindrance. I’ll update at some point with some pics of this strain in its full glory
