I’ve had my eye on That trio, especially when it first came out. Thought I would wait for the second hand market to arrive. NEed to revisit that.
Lol, just looked, now I remember why I didnt grab one$$
I did grab a “lekato?” Looper for le$$. Haven’t messed w it much tho.
There’s a looper out for about a hundred bucks. It’s called DITTO. Small so it takes a tiny amount of space and works really well. I use mine to lay down a nice rythym track and playback to practice soloing.
I use a program on the computer called Amplitube for that. I find a drum track on youtube or Wikiloops and load that in. Then I just improvise a rhythm part over it a couple times until I’m happy with it and get the changes down. I’ll record the rhythm part and then improvise lead the same way. I haven’t used it in awhile (actually don’t have it installed anymore) but it was fun and my lead improved a lot from it. The only downside is I was more focused on lead and the rhythm parts were really repetitive.
I’ve got a few
1996 Fender JagStang MIJ. First guitar I ever bought.
1992 Jackson Stealth XL Pro MIJ
2000 Jackson SL-3 MIJ
Epiphone Bjorn Gelotte from In Flames “Jotun” Les Paul w/59 neck
1970’s Ibanez Concorde acoustic w/ maple fretboard
Axe Fx 3
Dang. That was some quick picking! I feel old and slow right now. lol
Right! Excellent playing! Articulate, melodic. So talented, wtf!
My brother used to bike back and forth to work. He has found a number of goodies at the side of the road that he brought home. This one I will have to repair for him. A classical guitar, the tuners were removed. The back may need some refinishing, looks like someone sat in it from the damage. Should be worth the trouble as it has a mahogany neck and solid rosewood back and sides. Built by a luthier from Ontario.
Nice find. The trouble with the repair is that the fretboard and top will need to be removed so that you can access the top bracing. The bracing will need to be refluxed to the repaired top. The time and effort to patch the top, might be better spent replacing it instead. Either way good luck!
If it were a real valuable guitar then fixing the top would be worth it but I am guessing it was only $2-3k when new so I will be replacing the top. I am surprised at how thin the top is, about 75-80 thousands of an inch, a little thinner than I would go with cedar.
With a top that thin, it had to be responsive.
I tried to learn when I was younger, disliked how it felt in my hands enough not to keep at it. Literally the only person in my family who can’t competently play any musical instrument.
Mom: guitar, piano(all her siblings and their kids too, one of my cousins is even a world renowned opera singer)
Dad: Guitar, piano, drums, accordion
Sister: piano
Me: I can pop my trigger finger knuckles to a beat that’s it, and most people find it incredibly annoying
I would think. Mind you, it could also cause trouble with wolf notes and cut down on sustain. Mind you, the bridge is substantial enough. I doubt I will replace it with cedar, maybe Lutz spruce.
Well, I just did the knuckle thing for the first time in a long time and uhh ouch, not anymore lol
Weird this is one of the first threads that pop up for me this morning. I had a dream where I went to play guitar and when I picked it up the neck was bowed like a U. The whole thing was floppy for a second but I was able to pull it straight-ish. I was trying to check against the strings with a ruler and then woke up. 5 minutes later I’m reading this thread
That’s an omen. It means your girlfriend is going to Guitar Center to buy a new guitar for you.
Lucky Bastid. I bet she looks like she just stepped out of a Playboy centerfold, too.
Well now I’m slightly bummed since you made me imagine that since it ain’t happening
Playboy centerfold I’m not so sure about cause they don’t seem to like Pawgs
Ain’t SHIT wrong with a PAWG. You can just slap it and ride the wave. Hawhaw.
She’s not a big gal or anything. She’s actually pretty fit but just happens to have badonkadonk
