Any guitarists here ? I’m a jam band guy myself

Guitar player here, i play acoustic to keep the sound down because of the neighbors but find my own playing going to higher levels when i plug in. Basically i try to make my acoustic sound like an electric guitar. This means not a lot of strumming and when i do strum i palm mute the sustain. And then when i plug in i can almost feel the electricity.

Ended up buying a 7 string lately. Definitely a novelty for me but fun!

This is someone who sometimes plays guitar and sings on the internet. I’m not saying for sure it’s me… but I’m not saying it’s NOT me.

But wearing dumb beanies and playing Hum songs on an acoustic around camp fires is definitely something I’m known for…

I’ve joined a bluesband and play more electric than i ever did before. Bending is much easier and you can pitch much higher. I am using coated strings to keep the squeaking to a minimum.

It may be a cliché but acoustic guitars and campfires never bore me. And it’s always a win win cause if the player sucks, the fire had more wood!

I started playing in '64 after seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show. That was a 60
year road to where I’m at today.

Guitars and gear. Too many and not enough. Kind of like seeds.

I used to play mostly blues and rock but have expanded my horizons and repertoire
by playing other styles as well. Working on my 4th solo lp.

A Satriani cover I did years ago.

If one clicks on my user name, belleswell, in any of these soundcloud songs, it
will take you to my soundcloud page where I have over 50 songs. Newest at the

As a builder I find the puzzle piece top very cool! Nice collection of guitars.

These Ibby’s were released in '06. 80 of each color scheme were made which makes them
a bit rarer than most Ibby’s. It’s a Prestige. Here is a pic of all three color schemes.
The one I have has the most contrast between the puzzle pieces. The other two, can
barely be seen as a “puzzle” guitar top as there is no contrast between the color of the puzzle pieces.
The puzzle piece top on the one I have is a AAA Flame maple and Ovankol puzzle piece top.

This one is my only J Custom Ibby. By far, the best of all of my Ibanez guitars. I have 18 of them, and the J Custom is definitely a cut above the rest. It has the tri-sound switching which gives 15 distinct and different tonal settings.

Tone Zone and Air Norton pups. One of my fave players.

How long have you been playing @Tejas? Any links to some of your music?

I’m always game for collabs, even if it’s jammin to well made backtracks.

The present 24 fret line up including the Fender Urge Bass which was a signature guitar
for Stu Hamm. The Urge bass has the pups of both of Fender’s flagship basses, and that
is the Precision and the Jazz.

More of a collector and continuing student, playing for my own amusement. Here are two of my latest, a 1937 L00 and a 1962 Tele.

Are those guitars ones you made? Love the Tele.

I’m still learning myself and hope I never quit. A life long journey where it takes a very short
time to fall in love with the instrument and a lifetime to learn.

I retired in '16 along with my wife and we left the big city and found this wonderful country
home with a pond that is an endless amount of inspiration. You showed the '62 Tele,
and I told myself after retiring in '16 that I had all the guitars I could ever need or want.

Never say never.

Christmas of '23 had found me buying this one off Reverb for a great price.
An American Original '60’s based as well on a '62. The color is Lake Placid Blue.
Double bound and some say as good as a Custom Shop at a much better price.

There are a couple of turtles hiding in this pic. :grinning:

Yes, I built both of them. The acoustic is black walnut b&s, Sitka spruce top and ebony bridge, fretboard and head plate. The tele is Pauduk body, flame maple neck with a hard maple fretboard. The both sound good, but I need to get them in the hands of a better guitarist for feedback purposes.

Amazing craftmanship. Hats off respect Sir.

My wife who is an amazing artist doing mostly pet portraits for clients,
had noticed my obsession with a '52 blackguard Tele which is for the most
part, the Holy Grail of Teles. I could never afford one at asking prices
between 50 and 100K, but she did the next best thing and did this one for
me using pastels. She found the pic online and amazed me with it.
She’s a keeper and I don’t mean the guitar.

Here is the first song I did after getting the American Original 60s Tele based on a '62.
More twang than I’ve been used to in quite some time, but that was a big part of getting
it as I wanted something with more twang for my country stuff.
