Anyone have any recommendations for appetite inducing strains?

I have a really hard time holding on to body weight and an even harder time eating some days. It’s been like this my whole life, but when I get really stressed out, it gets more pronounced. I know, I know. I hear it all the time “thats a blessing, not a problem” and other stuff like that. And I can understand that.
I’m an ranch hand at the moment and I’m blowing through calories at this point. I read that Caryophyllene & Myrcene can induce appetite.
Probably too much back story, but maybe one of yall out there can relate or lead me in the right direction.

Can’t speak to strains, I’m sure there are many, but sometimes you just need to load up on calories even though you don’t want to. I do it every breakfast.

I think its one of those things that is different for everyone. Some people love eating while stoned. For me, smoking suppresses my appetite while I’m high. Then I get hungry/munchies as I’m coming down. I smoke small amounts all day, and tend to eat before I smoke if both are gonna happen soon.

I have always look at food as a bunch of chores. You gotta make money, go shopping, clean dishes, cook, eat, poop. It seems like a huge part of people days. I wish they had a pill to substitute most food, so we could just eat good stuff when we felt like it. Between eating and sleeping, I dont see how humans get anything done.

An Afghan indica cultivar will do that.

Mr. Nice NL5xAfghan certainly gave food an extra dimension, as it does with just about everything.

Since this is digestion related, it’s probably better to eat your dried cannabis after decarbing.
I always decarb at 100 Celsius / 212 F sous vide, for 1 hr 11 mins, then take out half of the batch and let the rest go on until 2 hr 22 mins.

I then eat 1/3rd of a teaspoon of each, before breakfast, but since you do labor perhaps better could be to eat half a teaspoon of the 2hr22min decarbed bud right when you finish work, before eating anything else. Then when you start eating a little later, it’ll taste so good you’ll be wolfing anything down.

You can experiment with different decarb times, I chose those numbers because very easy to remember. You can let it go to 3 hrs too but then it gets really sedative and tiring but not necessarily sleep inducing.

I combine those two decarb times because it gives me a nice balanced daytime effect and better sleep, and the cultivar matters less but I use 1hr11min for the sativa leaning cultivars and 2hr22min for the indica structured ones. Maybe only eating half a teaspoon or 2/3rd teaspoon of the 2hr22 would be closer to the effect you desire. I do not know.

Find out what works for you, make small batches using different decarb times and label them and see what’s up. For me personally I can say I like combining short and medium decarb times the best, it keeps me clearheaded and relaxed with little to no overwhelm.
You can combine 3 different decarb times but that was a little too much for me.

Also: eat a banana before every meal, they always stimulate my appetite, even when I’ve just finished a big meal, if I eat a banana as dessert, after 10 minutes I’m ready for another meal.

PS: I like eating alone, it gives me the space and silence to fully concentrate on the flavors.

I would look for high CBG strains, if you want seeds, they’ll likely be from Hoku Seed Company, it’s been shown to stimulate appetite just like THCV suppresses it:

I have heard this to be true, dunno really but may be worth a shot???

Do a test harvest, before trich’s get real cloudy not amber.
I know it sounds silly, but the cannabinoids may be less degraded at that point.
I would expect the high to be less also.

If that does not work for you personally, try high CBD/CBG stuff it is the opposite spectrum, not a big high, but it kinda makes you feel good, that may help.

If I had to pick a strain that makes me hungry it’s Chemdawg. Maybe you could carry a big thing of peanut butter with you and a spoon just like in a sling or like your bag idk. It isn’t complete nutrition but if you can just eat 2 or 3 tbsp a hour, it’ll help keep some weight on. Any nut or seed butter works tbh, I’d always carry a jar on me during football season in highschool and when I do labor jobs now as an adult! That or you could try to re-evaluate your relationship with food kinda sounds like an ED but idk.

I knew a guy who carried around 2L of milk everywhere he went trying to bulk calories to gain weight. Might work for you just for different reasons.

I could never drink that much milk.

I relate, my stomach is all jacked up. And my main strain Thai is loaded with THCV, a stimulant and appetite suppressant. I will be listening on this one.

Mandala Seeds Krystalica - I love this strain, but man it makes me want to eat everything in the house. If you’re a person who needs to gain weight or have a loved one who does, consider this one.
