Best Strains for Chemotherapy

I have an aunt that’s going through chemo for Hodgkin’s lymphoma and not enjoying it too much. I want to help her or offer her something but I’m not sure how or what. I haven’t done much research but wanted to reach out here in case someone had some info that could help me. How can cannabis help my aunt in this situation? What’s strains would be best for her? Something for appeitite? Something for nausea? Any info or experiences you can share would be appreciated.

Things to note, she wouldn’t be into smoking cannabis. More likely a tincture or edible.

Have you taken cannabis to help with chemo? What were your experiences?

I believe this is exactly what the “chemo” strain was bred for but that’s all I know about it :person_shrugging:

Sounds like Jordan of the Islands might carry it. Maybe he can share some knowledge if you reach out.

I can’t speak to a lot of your specifics but I find when doing edibles the strain doesn’t matter so much. It all sort of does the same thing.

Some will disagree.

If we were talking about smoking, that’s a different story.

For decarbing I do this:

3 hours really seems to hit the sweet spot for maximum medicinal benefit and soothing the body along with the mind without tripping balls.

Very interesting and I can’t say that I disagree with you. I was thinking that there might be a way to mitigate this by doing an ice water extraction of resin glands, using the Frenchy Cannoli method of course, then decarbing the hash and using that to make edibles or whatever… I’m still pretty new to all of this but that’s where my head is at.

I’m looking into sous vide as a method of infusion and decarboxylation. It seems like THE perfect method. You can maintain an absolute PERFECT temperature for a given amount of time. It seems like a no brainer.

 for your Aunt. My Dad had non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He did smoke the flower I grew for him. I grew TNT Kush from Eva Seeds and Afghan Kush from World of Seeds. Both where very easy growing. Please keep us informed on her situation and what you find out that works for her!

A whole lotta cancer patients prefer suppositories’ . Especially those who weren’t tokers before hand. For most it is the only way they can ingest enough without getting too high , as it bi passes the liver.
The most common way I have seen them made is by filling up gelcaps with RSO .
If we are talking smoking then I suggest more indica leaning .

If she doesn’t mind being high then get her to eat as much RSO as possible daily.

I think you want to find strains that have CBN and CBG in higher levels.

Can’t beat Frenchy’s mererial - one thing that I took away from one of his video’s - “in making hash, kief let your plant vet very, very ripe” this will increase your terpene profile

My father in Law just ti be diagnosed pancreatic cancer and he is doing chemotherapy four Time per month
I have made some CBD and THC infused coco oil
It seems to help him a lot with the secondary effects

Less tired
more appetite
much less recovery time after exertion
greatly improved rest

The THC infused oil was made with 2gr of dried SnowLotus in 30 ml of organic coco oil

Thanks man, respect.

Will do for sure. I’m not sure she would even take anything tbh but I just hate hearing that she’s not enjoying the chemo too much, especially when I know that cannabis could really help her.

Ya makes sense, ok thank you.

Wow, Ok I’ll try to explain to her the benefits.

Thanks for everyone’s responses so far!

My plant hasn’t grown up yet to tell you if it works well or not but numerous people on here recommended Sunshine Daydream. I’m currently growing some for my father who has lymphoma

Hey @NorthNorthNugs can you share what worked/didn’t work strain & ingestion type to help your aunt? Another members wife (@HollySun91) may be starting chemo soon so I’m trying to aggregate data for him.

If anyone else has any more suggestions, especially cultivar suggestions that can be grown from seed please share them. He lives in a country where cuts/snips won’t make it.

Thanks!
