My most memorable 4th of July was at Woodhaven. 1986 or 87? My best friends, John and Paul Moreau had a place in one of the cul-de-sacs, and their parents were in California. Our friend group, 10 of us, descended on WH that weekend. John brought 2 SHEETS of acid for 12 people. He mixed a gallon of cool-aide, threw a shitload of acid in it, and began passing around. I didn’t even know he dosed it till I swallowed a 10 strip.
WTF John! My girlfriend has never tripped before! John says, “oops” lol. They went to see fireworks and I spent that night soothing my freaking out gf hiding on the floor of the back seat of my car.
I spent the next two days working her down. We broke up shortly thereafter. It was still a great weekend
That time of year again…still not sure when/where I’ll be going camping…just took the tarp off today…this time last year we’ve already been camping twice…this year I wanted to make sure that I had my vegetable garden all done before the fun begins…
It’s been way too hot and humid to go out camping for me…it seems that it will be in the 90’s for the next 2 weeks…I might just go after the summer months, I love going during autumn months anyway specially when the leaves start turning…
Getting ready to go camping and just making sure the camper is all ready and ok…not sure when and where yet but probably at Middlefork in Champaign Co. Definitely won’t need air conditioning but I know I’ll need heating…
I am hoping for some first hand input @PhilCuisine , beyond the typical Google results. But I thank you…
I always try to get info from somebody pretty familiar from their likeminded trip or even a local or two to help suggest a general area. I’m not the campground type is what I’m trying to say…
That looks pretty cool; you’re invited to the next camping trip
Have you ever messed with baking in a Dutch oven while camping?
I went camping in the desert a couple weeks ago and prepped some yakitori skewers and the tare sauce to go with it, and some veggie skewers too and figured the carbs would come from beer. The chicken meatball skewers were show stoppers…
It was a great camping meal because everything was prepped ahead of time and we used bamboo skewers that we just threw in the fire for easy cleanup.
Of course bromigo but I use my smaller bullet smoker as an oven when I go camping…perfect for pizzas outdoors when camping…no need to buy them overpriced propane pizza ovens…
