Are you a ''Lone Grower''?

I’m the grower and very rarely a smoker. I grow for my wife, and share the “overages” with our adult kids, and close friends. She is supportive; has watered when I have had to be away for work, and helps trim but really the day to day is all me. Wish we could share a little more time and passion. She does like to cook, so i made a batch of green dragon today and hoping to peak some interest there. I like the idea of giving her a project to see if she will join the grow. Got some seeds just cracked, think I’ll see if she accepts the challenge.

Lone grower here, I’m reluctant to share my secret hobby with others as long as it’s still highly illegal.

The only women in my life who know about it are my mother and my ex of 3 years.
Back when we were a couple, my ex had an issue with how much time I invested into my plants and the amounts i smoke, these days she asks me if i can give away some flower to her new guy…
When i meet new people I just keep quiet about it.

Better to have control over what people know than to trust them to shut their mouths when it’s your freedom that is on the line. It doesn’t even have to be ill will, some people just aren’t cut to break the law and can’t keep their cool in hairy situations.

Once the legal climate changes I will gladly tell everyone about my hobby on the first date haha.

I like doing it myself but they can have their own stuff lol and maybe another for tag team :joy:

i’m a lone grower too. my wife loves to smoke the flowers and hash and everything though. if i’m out of town and ask her to do stuff she happily does the tasks as long as it isn’t too tricky. usually all the buds smell like “weed” to her but sometimes i get the “mmmmh what is that?!” and i answer “weed” and then proceed to tell her everything i know about it lol

Same exact situation for me. She thinks it’s great that I’m so involved with it, but has no interest in growing at all. She used to be the gardener for outdoor plants, but even that interest has waned over the years. I grow my cannabis, and have been growing heirloom tomatoes for several years now. Expanded to other veggies over the past 2-3yrs.
Basically, I’m the gardener now.

I’m a lone grower for a lot of the reasons already mentioned. In fact, since early 2021 I haven’t been a grower at all because my wife won’t allow it. That’s mostly because she’s afraid of the law, but she also has had trouble letting go of the “drugs are bad mmmkay” mentality. Sad part is we’re only early-mid 30s! Rec weed has been legal somewhere in this country for most of our adult lives. Cops in my city would have zero interest in busting me as I keep it to myself. As you might guess these arguments have gotten me nowhere. So at this point I’m eagerly awaiting some developments in the new state legislature so we can at least ditch the lawbreaking fear and maybe start reprogramming that D.A.R.E. shit lol. She has tried my weed a couple times early on but got a bad coughing fit smoking out a bubbler and then overdid it a bit with an edible. Just my luck.

My nephew turns 21 in May and I’ve been half joking with my wife that I should give him a couple oz for his b-day.

I kind of “wing it”… but basically 3parts coconut oil (solid kind) to1 part olive oil- and enough weed rim to equal the amount of coconut oil…
So-- if using 3c packed trim, use 3c coconut oil and 1c olive oil— I put it on low in the crock pot all day… drain it through a mesh coffee filter, ad a few drops of essential oils, stir, and jar it up.
It will solidify over night.

That’s OK the rest of us more than make up for it. I’m sure.

Not ours…his idea of 'helping’is to help himself to eating the plants!

That’s too bad… how does she feel about alcohol? If she’s ok with that, point statistics of alcohol vs weed… and get a copy of Jack Herer’s ‘The Emperor wears no clothes’ and have her read it!! Very enlightening!

Yeah for sure. I love telling my lady how the process is going and seeing her get excited and of course testing the end product together. It makes my experience richer. I am glad to see that despite the other not partaking they still grow because they love to

Lone grower in this house as well. My wife loves when I trim, she will steal the prize buds out of the trim bin and smell them for hours, thats as close as she gets. She gets far too baked when she smokes.

I’m looking for some great low sugar edibles for her if anyone has any good recipes id be grateful

How about home-made crispy Bacon cheese crackers?
If she isn’t into bacon, you can substitute 1 tsp.Italian seasoning and increase the garlic!
Make sure to use a really good very sharp cheddar!

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon seasoned salt like Lawry’s
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup canna butter cubed then well-chilled
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
8 slices bacon cooked to crispy and chopped
1 cup buttermilk

Preheat oven to 400° F / 200° C / gas mark 6.
In a food processor, pulse the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, seasoned salt, and cayenne until well-combined.
Add butter cubes to food processor and pulse until mixture resembles coarse meal. (About 20 times.)
Transfer the flour mixture to a large bowl and stir in the crumbled bacon and shredded cheese.
Add buttermilk and stir just until the dough forms a soft, cohesive ball.
Place the dough in the freezer while you get the pan ready.
Measure a piece of parchment paper to fit your cookie sheet, or use a silicone baking mat.
Remove ¼ of the dough from the freezer and put it on the parchment paper or baking mat.

Cover your dough with parchment or another baking mat and roll out until it’s 1/4-inch (6.5mm) thick…
Remove the top piece of parchment and, using a butter knife, Score the dough into 1" squares.
Bake 12-15 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway through.
Remove from the oven when the edges begin to turn golden brown.
You might need to remove crackers from the outer edges before the rest if they cook faster.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let it sit for 2 minutes, then transfer the crackers to a wire rack to cool.
Allow cookie sheet to cool, then repeat with remaining dough until it’s all used.
Store in an airtight container once completely cooled.

Is that right @Pawsfodocaws? What about hunting season, and other times you’ve left them in my care, I have yet to kill one!!! I do support it! Remember I even let you bring them along with us on vacation that time in the RV? Helped you keep those babies alive also. So you at least have a back up, or plantsitter whenever necessary! :relaxed: I look forward to learning more also.
