JS/BD/Sk91 female that didnt herm is looking more frosty each day. Its been rubbing against the top of the room so ive super cropped the shit out of her reduce the damage to the hairs. So far ive spotted one seed on a preflower on the hazelnut bluerhino/gdp… Its fairly large so it happened before i pulled the herms; it seems to be the only pollinated spot so far.
I have several hawaiian genetics growing atm; the white elephant (purpleelephant×98alohaWW) looks promising, reminiscent of shantis black widow. But looking threw my gear as to what to breed with what I had to do research again because I couldnt remember the parental lines of some of them. One I was surpised I still had was bohdi’s dragonsblood hashplant from the seed-runs. 8 seeds. So I read a seedbanks description of it which I assumed was bohdi’s intended description. Basicly said it was a hawaiian sativa bred with bohdi’s 88g13HP. But I looked it up on seedfinder to get a better description of the genetics.
And I found it was a very rare Kona Gold pheno that’s like 1 in a million and near mythological status among hawaiian growers. But i had already been researching kona gold and found it was a massive plant that has a massive root structure due to growing on the sunny side on the island. Here’s some excerpts from a few articles: “The Blood is a Hawaiian landrace phenotype that appears so rarely that it has gained a mythological status among growers. The Blood was given its name for the red veins found in its stems and leaves, and the deep red sap that flows from them.”
(A basic Google description via strainly.)
“A legendary phenotype that surfaces “once in a million” when testing Hawaiian seeds.
The Blood as it was called in the 70’s by local growers in Hawai’i displays a red “bloodline” up the stem and leaf veins and bleeds a red sticky sap like excretion ergo the name “The Blood”.
While many searching for this phenotype mistakenly believe it is a individual strain, according to local Hawaiian growers finding the blood is like winning the lottery and there is no guarantee that seeds made from a blood pheno will produce offspring that also exhibit the blood phenotype.
We will be working further with this blood phenotype of Kona Gold and have chosen her as a Mother for our 1st S1 (Feminized) Kona Gold seeds.” - Pua Mana Pakalolo
I know seeing the grandparents genes coming out of crosses isn’t uncommon but the High Level 5 (hi-5) which parental genealogy is iffy…as in no known photos of triple duck dare. From what I see my hi-5 is leaning towards kona gold from its sheer size. The lowland cherryqueens are the only ones that have kept up with it at the same age. No sex identified yet. The 2 lowland/cherryqueens are females and will be in the attic at the end of Sept.
