I’m mixing up some more water in case the soil reads dry again, but I went easy on the water to be safe as I’d rather under than over water. The soil when it gets that dry though last before adding plants needed a lot of water to read properly, so fingers crossed. Worst case I maintain a batch of water for next watering. Lights turn on soon and I can see what the deal is. I may have to soak the soil excessively though if DBHP soil is anything to go off of. It took a good amount of water for the 15 gallon to fluff itself up again without dry spots showing up after draining within a few minutes. I suspect that one time I let them dry too much was where I screwed up hydration of the soil. I’ll work slowly to get the soil back without drowning them ideally though.
I was right and they needed more water. The meter was at a 2 still. I slowly added water until mild runoff and now tbe so should be behaving normally. In a few I’ll go inside for pictures
Booberry still has some runoff, but I’m mopping it up as needed. I don’t need any root rot. Now I can be sure the soil is properly saturated. I’ll use my moisture meter to judge when to water from here on out. Bonus is the floor got cleaned up with the towel treatment thought I’d show off her stems below the canopy. I need to work on my training from here on out. She either turned her pistils red from the drought or she’s nearing her end. I’ll have to check on the trichomes go be sure where she’s at
Marauder is fading a bit or purpling. Not exactly sure. After the second watering I think that she’ll keep from eating leaves much more. I have to figure out training her. If Booberry decides to finish up sooner than planned, then I can have her front and center as a plant that can cover a 4x4 by itself
Somehow I can heart my last post🤣
Tonight is time to trim up Marauder. She’s stabilized and isn’t desperately eating leaves anymore. Time to remove lowers and give her the energy where she needs it.
Booberry is stuck deciding between growing new white hairs and turning them red. I’ll keep an eye on her, but she would appear to be at plant death soon if this isn’t a stress response from pruning. Test buds from pruning got a smoke last night and they had a decent CBG content with a very respectful amount of THC. The high was nice making edibles with the rest as they weren’t dried the best for smoking. My back still feels better this morning too.
Today they both look much better. New leaf growth in Marauder looks very healthy and the white hairs on Booberry are overtaking the red now.
I’m going to work on pruning Marauder and I’ll add pictures after.
She looks beautiful
Marauder is taking some time to prune correctly and j needed a break before I went back in. I can’t lean over like that for extended periods without falling over. I’ll need to get in there on the other side somehow
Booberry is looking good. The reason the trellis is looking like that is because the stem it’s attached to was too heavy for the stem to support. I plant taped it and added another to the trellis to keep it upright. She hasn’t given up on that stem and I won’t either.
Marauder is mostly finished with her haircut, but for now she’s done. I don’t want to stress her out. So far she seems to have responded positive to the pruning.
Thanks I appreciate it i didn’t have a phone for a min I’ll be updating with this plant and rs #4 which she’s going on her third flower cycle
I’ll be able to see his they recovered at lights on hopefully Booberry doesn’t give up on the snapped stem. It snapped down the stem before I plant taped it together and put it in a sling with the trellis.
Now that they’re trimmed up and nutrient balance seems to be mostly restored to normal I’ll slowly increase the light intensity today as well. Booberry is looking a little darker after removing lowers and dead leaves mostly. I’ll have to wet trim most likely as she’s eating sugar leaves now. Booberry might be an auto of some kind somehow. She is growing denser buds, but she’s looking like she’s ready soon IDK
They’re looking really good now. They definitely needed the excessive amount of water in the soil. It soaked it all up and the plants are looking much better afterwards too.
Marauder is stacking pistils into colas now. It’s been a couple of weeks since I added any calcium and magnesium, so I’m adding more at the next watering. I’m looking into options for slowly watering better in a way that can get under tough spots.
Sorry no pictures. I crashed after being up for 2 days straight
They’re both looking really good. As proof apparently Booberry got spidermites again I did the only thing I can do after seeing a webbed cola and sprayed the tent with spinosad. For these ones to show up I doubt it’s the same population. The cola that was being covered seems to have been the only one, but I sprayed the entire tent top and bottom to be safe. Soaking that one with enough to actually absorb in the bud:grimacing: I may have to topical that branch. I’d rather have a topical designated plant than one I have to sacrifice to save the grow only to find out later there was more hiding. Plus she’s so dense now it’s ridiculous I’ll take whatever stress I gave her to stop these MF from living any longer. I went full nuke in case they were somehow stragglers from before. I haven’t seen a single gnat at least, but this definitely explained why the plants were getting slowly chewed by something possibly.
Luckily it dries off fast. I did it with lights on I know, but I’m not taking chances with the Borg.
Leaves don’t look that bad anymore. Unfortunately the eaten sugar leaves have remained and I’m at a loss as yo what to do about it.
On a separate note I’ve noticed that Booberry is drinking the pot dry every few days my moisture meter read 1 again. They got water at lights on and again a few hours before lights off.
I checked on the tent to be safe interrupting lights off with my flashlight to check if any webs came back as this is the rough timing last time they came back and no traces found so far. Hopefully, but tomorrow I’m spraying again if I see more signs of Borg. I’ll try to just spray once as they’re pretty far into bud development. I still don’t want to be smoking this if it’s going to remain in the buds hopefully they work through it by harvest. I’ll have to use my nose, but at least currently it’s not smelling like anything, but weed
So far no mites have come back. I can take pictures tomorrow. Today litfa.
Looking really good
Here’s last night’s lights in pics. I passed out last night and woke up at lights off, so just these pics available for now.
No pics today, but I watered small amounts every day at lights on and off based on moisture meter readings and the soil seems more like soil again. Next grow when o let the soil dry out like that this method works for my environment.
I forgot to add details. Borg came back 2x so far. Luckily it’s near the end and I don’t mind the taste as much as others. I’ll have to deal with some off flavors to finish this grow. After this grow I’ll deep clean the tent and room around it. Full reset. Everything else is going outside for a bit after harvest to let me clean up worry free. If I grow again it’ll be outside this year.
Booberry is still bulking up and has clear trichomes. Marauder is still the same looking, but once her soil was worked on she started to grow again instead of eating her leaves. She needs a lot of water. Every day her soil reads anywhere from a 1-3 on the meter. Today was the first time her soil didn’t have runoff after 6oz water was added to the top. Today is litfa after getting the soil to act up. Tomorrow I’ll see how they are and if the Borg is back again. If it is I’ll either cut my losses and harvest or keep up spraying and deal with the harvest Being off taste.
Booberry has stopped fading it seems and appears to be aiming for the end finally after the last spray. The cola they tried to kill got gnarly and the day after it grew much larger.
The buds on Booberry are so dense I can’t squeeze them😬
