Silly joke I made.
For Northern Lights fans: presuming I get suitable parental stock from this grow, I plan to impregnate the best female and make lots of seeds.
I will be sharing all I have with anyone here who wants some. And I don’t care if I get credit from someone. Just sayin’.
I’ll start a Seed Run signup when they get up-potted.

I made an executive decision this afternoon. Because these are F2s, I need options in terms of phenos. I will need more light but I’ll cross that coyote bridge when I come to it.
I started 12 originally but I’ve lost five. Two damped off, one was massacred by Shitrat the cat when I left the humidity dome off unattended, I just killed two this weekend in brilliance. I keep them in the mini-greenhouse of humidity. A few days ago I relocated it all to a different location but I forgot one key thing - I forgot to reinstall the temp probe so the mat ran at full steam. The temp probe was on the ground next to them. The two I seemingly cooked to death were not the most vigorous of the bunch.
One thing I love about growing is that it keeps you humble. Any time I start to get overly full of myself, the weed gives me a reality check.
If I get 7-8 keepers from the new batch I should end up 15+ in total. The should give me enough to pick a few favorites to breed.

Sounds like a bitch move. He never planned to sell seeds. Just because yo never heard of him doesn’t mean others have not.

That was the point I was making. He should have contacted me directly instead of whining on my grow log.
Many here may know him but I’d never seen the name until this. If I give @Guitarzan seeds and down the road he gives them to someone else - would I go on their grow log and make sure I got proper credit for the initial gift? Nope
If he never intends to sell seeds his actions look even worse. We have such a giving spirit on OG and no one ever seems to care about credit; which is the way it should be.
I’m very easygoing but he rankled me.
As an aside, I need to order a number of strains soon. Anything that really stands out on Soakin Beans?

So you are mad because someone wanted credit for the hard work they put into something? I can’t read what was said because it was deleted but I bet nobody was asking you for payment or anything else.

It wasn’t what he said, it was the way it was said. He whined about not getting credit, personally chastised me for not giving him credit, and declared he was not gonna give seeds out anymore; in a “I’m taking my ball and going home” sort of way. He could have approached it in a million ways but he was all “woe is me.” It’s just bad form.
I didn’t get mad until he doubled down on his whining in another post. At that point it became less about the credit and more about clogging my grow log. People shouldn’t have to read miscellaneous non-related posts in a grow log.
I’m sure he’s a good guy and we’d probably get on well in real life. I harbor no hard feelings toward him but bad form is bad form.

I know Coyote and I doubt his intentions were ever to “clog your grow log”. Regardless it does not make it right to do what you say you will do.

All I said is I wanted to send his seeds back to him and that I would not promote him or his gear again.
I didn’t create this problem, he did. Despite many people agreeing that he was in the wrong, did he acknowledge in any way his missteps? All that needed to happen after I called him out was to acknowledge and clarify his grievance to me. Instead he doubled down on bashing me on MY grow log.
How do you think I should have handled it? Little miscommunications like this happen all the time but you’ve got to be a man, admit you’re wrong, and apologize. He did none of those.
I’m over it. I harbor no ill will towards him. His gear seems to be very good; it was clear how carefully packaged the seeds were. It’s also clear that he cares and respects the plant. Sadly, it’s also clear he needs “Atta boy” or praising compliments. That’s all fine until he chastised a grower on that same grower’s grow log. Bad form no matter how you slice it.
At any rate, I appreciate your assistance in putting this issue to bed.

The reality is that I overreacted to what he said and I could’ve let it end there. That is what I would normally do but I’m not sure why I didn’t this time.
Life is too short to get worked up over small things. I feel bad the exchange even happened.

Apologies for not posting an update but, you know, seedlings. The germ rates on these seeds was very good but I’ve had higher infant mortality than I expected.
I started 12 seeds. All popped within 72 hours. One somehow managed to break a tail. I got them all in soil and all but one broke ground. Amazingly, the little taproot-damaged baby has shown much gumption and fights on. They all went into the dome on the heat mat. They were all good for a few days. However, four damped off in the coming days; leaving me with seven.
I decided to start another 12 to give me some choice. This twelve showed similar characteristics - one never broke ground and three damped off. We’re now at 15 in total. Most have been leggy and weak. I’m nursing them along so we’ll see. My guess is that I will only end up with 10 worthy of growing.
They are getting moved today into the Baby/Mama area where they will get stronger light. I will take some pictures if I can.
It was my hope to have 16-18 so 10 would be disappointing but as we all know, you never know until you know.
