Anyway, back on track.
I once spilled a giant bag of ice all over the kitchen floor while making bubblehash.

Nanners…had to pull everything a couple of weeks early and had proto seeds everywhere.
Got loggered in a couple of spots when I was a gorilla gardener in the 90s.
I had over a hundred starter plants outside that were munched by rabbits.
That all sounds terrible!
My last harvest was terrible only got 500 frickin’ grams. What a fuckup.
I feel like my first grow sucked compared to the other 100’s way back when. Microgrow soil and crappy taste… I am just lucky cannabis is a forgiving plant
The “6 foot all males in the swamp” run and " fucked up the pump timer on vacation" run come to mind. What can ya do, that’s life
I read your thread about the pump timer on vacation…that suuuucks :\
one of my bad things, i was about 15…growing outdoors, very dry drought year, plants were remote in thick brushy area, was tired of carrying water to them, so I decided to transplant one of them into a better area for water and let the rest die. So I transplanted it into the bottom of a deep dry drainage ditch, it took hold and was doing nicely, and no more long trips into mosquitoville , and back then most important no trails to my plants…
about 2 weeks later we got a huge rain, the ditch filled up and you could see my 4 foot plant under about 3 feet of water, it lived for about a week i guess. two weeks or so later the ditch was dry again and my plant was dead.
so all those who say h2o killza even if its called dihydrogen monoxide, dihydrogen oxide, hydrogen hydroxide, or hydric acid.
Oh, damn. That’s horrible my friend. Sooo sorry that happened to you.
Shit happens, just gotta pick up the pieces and keep Rollin forward! It was still good experience getting them big, we just legalized in the fall so a great lesson of my limits and what the plants can and cannot handle out here in the az heat
Like some already mentioned above, nanners seeding up crops, losing prized cuts, broad mites were a little tricky mainly because it took me a while to figure it out.
But the 2 that really felt like a stomach churning kick to the you know whats , was having to cull 144 plants at week five of flower when an old landlord decided they were selling the property and needed to get the house valued. But at least I was in control of the situation and could save mothers/cuttings.
The 2nd incident was similar to @anon92380848 , I had been burning sulphur and messed up programming the timer, the out-take vent never turned back on, was a freakishly warm late summers day, everything was cooked to a crisp, I lost everything, all my beloved cuts.
Stung a lot at the time, but its just part of it.
I almost forgot about the 1st time i tried to grow outdoors until i read this… I spent all day biking into the forest with backpacks full of soil, planted around 20 seedlings. The next day i went to check on them someone had moved all of them. I ended up finding them about a month later all dead…
that was actually the only time ive grown outdoors
Russet mites killed everything for 6 months I was about ready to give up growing. Lost my mom’s, 2 sets of flowers time. I still have russet PTSD about 2 weeks Into flower.
oh now you’re talking! The flood of 2017 wiped out everything in my grow except the pineapple plant. All good genetics were flushed down the shitter.
I don’t even know what Russet mites are yet I’ll just assume they have something to do with potatoes.
Only bad one so far was when i caught covid and let my reseviors run dry because I was pretty much bedridden. Had one that I tried to nurse back to life but it was a wash. I was disappointed but shit happens.
Damn I’m sorry, that would frustrate the hell out of me!
Was my first run with multiple 1k hids, so I was more disappointed about the wasted electricity bill.
how about this
I’ve been having this problem with two of 8 of my DWC sites, other 6 are sunshine & rainbows
the plants or something in the coco kept turning the res cloudy, it stinks, and the pH spikes to 8+.
I cleaned everything three times, tubing, lids, buckets, ran bleach and h202 through the airstones,
it happened again within an hour after doing all that, right after putting nutrients and the plants in,
& that was after waiting 24 hours with just water to see if it was any of the gear.
Tried a different nutrient line, same problem again, so its got to be something in the coco.
So I put some bleach into the res and pH down to around 6, I let it sit for an hour with the plants out to make sure it didn’t spike up again, I put them back in & the bleach seems to have worked for now, but yeah that was not fun.
Most people would just start over at that point,
I think the answer is to sterilize your medium before using it, pour boiling water over it and let it cool down
I could always stick them in soil and put them outside, spray with STS for pollen
also spider mites destroyed one of my recent harvests, which is why I switched to DWC but now I got stank res
