Shutting down my veg room, or ...my neighbor is a walking spider mite!

Thats it!! Tired of the battle. Spider mites have infested muh humble home. Moved all my veg plants into the flower room and set the clock for march. Wanting to move anyway. I have a low IQ fake Navy vet neighbor that has no car job. Steals and lies. Suckered me in early till I saw his true colors. He knows whats up and is a low life neighbor looking for someone to take from walking around my area alot. Creeper style. Now it’s winter things are getting harder for him. I feel like a target for sure. Time to finish out and shut shit down for awhile.
I bet some of you have had to do the same thing. Literally move because of one person.
I bought a bag of cheap soil and did not cook it in the oven before using it in the pots. It was a good run I learned alot. Hopefully I can finish out the remaining plants and get some seeds for next time. I t’s too difficult when there are evil people around you looking for the right chance to harm a guy.
I hope you don’t have any problems with your current grow and best of luck OG.

It’s a sad day at the cavern of lights.

The guy is an opportunistic thief. He is just waiting to pop a door open and get inside. Nobodys home is safe around here. The cops will not even go in this guys house its so disgusting. They often show up to visit him tho. Serious trouble calls for serious measures. I would guess more than one here has had to shut down and move fast as well.

Well, that sucks! I LOVE growing over the winter more than any other time of the year. The colors pop, there’s never any issues with heat from my 1000W HPS lights, and the humidity is low. But it’s better to be safe than arrested for beating my neighbor to death! Probably.

Every time I use my water only soil I get fungus gnats. I made it with the pro mix from Walmart. Now I don’t buy any soil from anyone. Especially if I know it’s laying outside. I even tried cooking it and only using a hand full in my coco. I got the same results. Fungus gnat hell.
By the time my plants enter flower, the gnats would be in full swing. Neem or toss was the best solution because the harvest would only be good for edible.
I covered it and set it at the very back of my yard. And threw some grape seeds in it. What a waste.

Yep it’s not worth the fight. I want to do a different method and grow next time. All the same strain. The stutter stacking of the harvesting of different strains is more time involved. Next time I will plant 50
Of the same strain and hope for less than half females. Should be enough to veg and do a decent flower run for jar stash only and friends. I don’t do anything other. Just tired of thousand jars with 2 buds in them. And yes the gnats also were a problem but I had them beaten back with my new hand held vacuum weaponry. Worth every penny

I say out loud when I use this “take that you filthy animal!!”

I know it man my grow was going amazing. Had like 6 mothers going. Gnats mites and bumbling dumbfucks can ruin things. Shutting down shop in a hurry is all part of this sport unfortunately and I knew that getting in. Thanks for the reply so true so true. The truth hits like a pile of bricks. Thank you.

Your first mistake was breaking rule number one.
Never let anyone know you grow.

I live across the street from a crackhead. This mofo breaks into people houses on the daily. I noticed that he started working on crap next to the road. Then one day I pulled into the driveway with my car windows down and new why he was working out there. I could smell the bud at the road.
So I new he was wait for his chance to come in. Bro I was only 3 weeks from harvest and decided to chop. I notice the increased traffic on my quiet street. I had made a few new crosses and the damn smell was ridiculous. I was running 2 6 “ filters and an 8” that were all new for this grow. I tried everything to lower the smell but it wasn’t happening.
I felt like people were driving by my house just to smell the bud. I had trembles when I started cutting them down. I couldn’t believe I was doing it. Especially with the seeds that I had made. But I had to because every day the smell was getting worser. Better safe than sorry. I gathered some pollen from the beat ones. So I’ll just make seeds when I feel safer.

The shit is no joke for sure. Smart move. Very fukin smart. Better luck next time is what I have to say to myself. The mites were the deciding factor. Just watched my buddy go thru hell with his plants. Don’t have time for it. Live and learn. Do not take in anything from outside without sterilizing it first. Next grow I do will be treated like a hospital setting. White board on the wall with constant reminders. Can never make the mistake again because it takes “too much time” to cook out soil or sterilize it. Plus the shitbag neighbor and his hard drug using friends that all ride bikes. Yea and the smell ffs. I grow all skunks pretty much. Shits no joke and a serious mans game. You got to follow all the rules to a T. Thanks for the story yea wow I would freak out and do the same thing. Go with the gut I have learned.

Thats shitty dude. The 2 worst kinda of people in the world are liars and thieves, and in my experience crackheads are both. Anytime you’ve got extra skunk strains that reek I’d be willing to do some trades if you’re interested. I live in a rural area out in the boonies and we are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to intruders. I’m doing a Skunk the Neighborhood grow in the spring and am looking for the smelliest of strains

for sure man, i second that. you just never know and its not worth it having to look over your shoulder or worry about your place when you run to the corner store.

shitty neighbors make life hard, it sucks having to move cuz of one but sometimes its just best to cut bait and run. good luck to you sir, hope ur little pests dont go with you to your new home

Had issues with a former neighbor you wouldn’t believe. Best advice I can offer for when you arrive at your next place is be freindly and curtious to your neighbors but don’t ever let them too close and give them more information then they need. I’d also recommend installing security cameras even if there aren’t any issues. A $200 set of cameras goes a long way when dealing with neighbor bullshit and is really useful for security in general. The peace of mind is totally worth it.

100% agree. and if you add an extra cam or 2 for your plants so you can watch them too when youre away it really allows you to relax if you have to leave for the weekend or week!

One time after just moving to this house I saw a cop just idling in my driveway. I ran downstairs cut every plant down thinking I was about to get busted. Came back upstairs cop was gone. Complete over reaction for something that was more than likely something simple like the old owner knew him and didnt know he sold the house or he got a call and pulled off the road to take it.

Here’s a story that I still carry-around to this day that I find interesting.

Many moons ago, I lived in Peoria, IL. It’s a crappy small/midish sized town overall where the first thing you’ll notice is that on one side of the street you’ll have a church, prim and proper, then on the other-side would be a strip club with flashing neon lights 24/7. Needless to say, there was a lot of shady stuff going on around town … including the local popo.

At the time, I was living in the upstairs unit of an old house that was converted into condos. In the basement unit lived a young lady that worked at one of those strip clubs … or so I was told (oddly, right next to us there was also a church).

One day, not really knowing much of anyone, I get this knock at my door. It was a detective. Flashes his badge at me, then:

Detective: “Do you know what happened to the stereo?”
Me: “No. I’m not sure what we are talking about here.”
Detective: “The individual in the basement unit is moving out and someone stole her stereo.”
Me: “Really, where was it?”
Detective: “In the driveway.”
Me: “In the driveway? Why? That’s odd. Unattended? Probably shouldn’t have left it there.”
Detective: angry stare
Me: “I have no idea what happened to her stereo. Sorry. Is there anything else?”
Detective: “no.” walks away

I didn’t think much of it, a momentary surprise, didn’t really care.

Although, approximately a month later.

Unidentified Individual: “Hey, wake up. You have to get out of here.”
Me: Waking up from a deep sleep with a flashlight shining in my eyes. Don’t know the time, 2-3AM? “What the F.”
Unidentified Individual: “Whoa, whoa whoa. There’s a fire, you have to leave.”
Me: “Uhhh, ok. Did I leave a Pizza in the oven or something? I don’t think I …”
Unidentified Individual: “Downstairs unit, you have to get out now.”

I popped my shoes on, walked down the stairs, exited outside where I see my neighbors including the new basement tenants standing on the sidewalk. Fire trucks nearby.

Everyone is staring at me. Like, angry stares. WTF stares.

I’m standing there confused trying to make sense of the situation. I notice no smoke. No fire. Just dirty looks. The firemen are milling around.

Then, I notice something. A person. Someone comes out the door that leads to my unit. I see him, he sees me. He then quickly turns away and books off in the opposite direction from where I was.

Instant clarity. It was that damn detective.

A stereo. A flippin stereo. To this day, I still wonder what was inside of that stereo. Or if it was even a stereo. Also wonder in what way that detective was wrapped up with whatever they were engaged in. Pretty damn elaborate. Had no idea this was a thing. Pretty damn lucky they didn’t take that set-up a bit further.

Sorry OP, that was a bit off topic. Just thought it was an interesting story in particular about situational awareness. Didn’t think that such things would occur.

One thing I have learned over the years is that it seems that most crime is instigated by acquaintances to people that you know. Sometimes, it may be directly by the people that you know … but most of the time not very well. As an example, I had lived in Milwaukee for a number of years. In that instance, I knew many and had many, uhhh, contacts with folks that just knew stuff. You could literally ‘order’ stuff to be gotten through that network.

I’ve had personal things, tools, vehicles, etc thieved from me at a rate of no less than once a year. I’ve even had some of those contacts warn me ahead of time, of plans, to thieve something.

It wasn’t as though I was rich. I was relatively poor, living commune style, and most of my ‘stuff’ that was thieved was more along the lines of, 100 dollars here, a vehicle that was missing the bumpers, etc. Just that someone wanted something, cheap.

It is wise to have a certain amount of paranoia. Situational awareness. Protect yourself and your family. Lot’s of shady things can occur in the world.
