Bathtub veg room?

I’ve noticed a trend of people vegging in the bathtub. Do yall use some kind of waterproof lighting? Have a shelf to put the plants on when you shower? I like the idea I only have the one the one bathroom though. Suppose I could try it out see if it’s worth the trouble. Figure why not save $100 on a veg tent.

I am going to go out on a limb and say those veg spaces are almost certainly spare bathtubs.
Sure you could move a few plants everytime you needed to shower, but what a damn hassle.
Save yourself the hassle and buy the tent. You can thank me later.

Most of the panel type LEDs I see on amazon advertise a waterproof rating. Just plug your lights into the GFCI outlet. You’ll get a mild tingle at best before the interrupter pops, otherwise shower as usual. Be sure to dry your hands before you try to reset the breaker.

I just use the bathroom because it’s small, has a door for privacy, and I told the family it was broken. I originally intended to put together a hydro setup and figured a bathtub is a great place for spills or floods.

Breaker, gfci? That there’s fancy shit my landlord doesn’t mess with :expressionless:

got my light running off a 30amp dryer outlet, the rest of the outlets are ungrounded 2 prongs.
Honestly don’t think this place would be legal to rent in most of the country

I’m not an electrician but a GFCI outlet runs about $15. Don’t know anything about your wiring, but it might not hurt to look into. Stay safe.

Not vegging, well maybe, just soaking…LOL!!!
Love your work!!!

That was my issue too; it got VERY tedious moving stuff back & forth when I wanted to shower.

Agreed! I haven’t seen anything like that since I was a kid. And I am old.

Should’ve seen the blue ball of plasma that came up out of my foundation when the power tried cutting back on last night. Shit was scary. Glad I unplugged my shit when it went out.

Want to put in a work order and figure out the problem but my landlords a cop and I value my freedom way more than my safety (I might well be the dumbest mf on these forums)

damn dude its been YEARS since ive seen that.

with that fuse box, I’m going to go out on a limb and say, knob and tube.

My house has some hybrid knob and tube wiring for that 1947 retro vintage charm.

Can’t complain though, my service panel is at least up to date.

The main problem with knob & tube was in some installations the splices were not soldered (just wrapped and taped).
Unsoldered splices are basically a time bomb, Wires oxide, become less conductive, splices start to heat up and accelerate the process.

My daughter bought a fixer up last year and they had to remove some cloth wire and glass insulators/knobs. In the upper part of the house.

I’ve been helping my mom with her fixer upper for the past 3 years. Just took down the rest of the plaster cieling in her bedroom(shit collapsed a few weeks ago right over her bed, apparently right after she woke up and went out for a smoke) she got a good deal on the place and doesn’t have a mortgage but I don’t know what she’d do if I hadn’t moved back down here.
