Have you tried making psb or pnsb before? I hear that stuff is awesome @BeagleZ

I just put down weed and feed today to try and control the dandelions. Last week I put down crabgrass preventer. One of these days, Iā€™m gonna eradicate those fools

Donā€™t eradicate! Put them to use for you! FPJ for the win!!!
And stop using weed and feed, thatā€™s probably part of the problem. Give a good JMS bath instead.
The grass will eventually overtake the weeds if itā€™s happy dirt
Good luck!!

Sorry if that sounded aggressive lol, was not my intention @unomas :+1::+1:

Iā€™ve got some 4 year old FAA that honestly smells fantastic.
I just did a foliar the other day and my wife came down and commented on how good it smelled in there and then was like ā€œomg is it the fish ferment Iā€™m smelling again?ā€ because originally she was pretty disgusted by the whole fermenting fish thing haha

JADAM microbial solution. You use potatoes, a hand full of soil, a pinch of salt and water. Let it sit for 2-7 days depending on temp and dilute 10-1 for foliar or 20-1 for drench.
I make 3 gallons of solution at a time for 30 gallons of foliar for my property.
I detail the process further back in this thread.

I get the same reaction with my mixed weed fpj lolā€¦ it smells like lavender/roses/licorice, itā€™s fantastic.
The smell should come back around to the pleasant side on the FAA for me I hope, if not it will be the lack of the OHN that I did not have on hand at the time. Itā€™s not really bad but doesnā€™t smell like a great sushi joint either anymore.
All we can do is learn

I just used some FAA thatā€™s been going for 2 months, and it already smells great! Zero fish smell whatsoever; I stuck my nose in the jar and took a big whiff, and I would have never known what the original ingredient was.
Edit: @BeagleZ I went with sugar and fish. No weight on top, no bran, no IMO. Stored outdoors in 70-95 degree temps for 2 months as said above

Was your sealed or was it covered with breathable material @HeadyBearAdventures ?

@BeagleZ
1/2 gallon canning jar with the lid inverted and ring tightened to about 75%
It allows gas to escape, but keeps bugs and shit out.
Oh, and I stirred it daily for the first couple weeks.

Hey hereā€™s a question:
Iā€™m the process of making IMO-2, there is a liquid exudate that collects in the jar.
Had anybody tried utilizing that liquid as an input?
I did a Google, but came up empty, I canā€™t even really find anything about what it is besides ā€œmycelial excretaā€

Hmmmm not sure about that one.
My only guess would be itā€™s the liquid fungi push out. When I was growing mushrooms this was the ā€œbadā€ stuff it was pushing out, or at least that was my understanding.
Interested to know what others say about thisā€¦

This was my understanding too; cow shit is good fertilizer, worm shit, how about mushroom piss?!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Is it yellow like on top of a substrate cake?

I inoculated whole grains in substrate bags, so I know what you mean, but Iā€™d say this is way less coloredā€¦ Almost clear liquid.

Dandelions are also one of the top 5 flowers for honeybees. Tap roots go way deep, and pull up lots of good minerals, tooā€¦ and then thereā€™s dandelion wine, lol!

My grandfather used to make dandelion wineā€¦ Iā€™m bringing it back full circle  missed a generation but Iā€™m tryin to keep it alive

Dandelions are ripping around here right now. Waiting on some airlocks in the mail and imma try my hand at making a dandelion FPE. Should I plan to just collect the tops or some stems too you think?

Iā€™d take it all. Youā€™ll get more juice from the greens
