Looks really nice . Good amount you got .
like the color. Looks tasty
So are you going to chop it into tiny pieces and freeze dry it?
Nope.
I will just form a block and stick it in the freezer. Then when I want to smoke some, I take my zest grinder and grind off a nice pile from the frozen block. I do let it air dry for a while before firing it up tho.
Ok I found I like the freeze dry over my regular dry. Definitely stays more light in color and seems to be more terpenoids .
I ran a batch of fresh frozen a while back and have to admit it was the nicest hash I’ve made to date.
So what do you do? You smash it up and place in freezer until it’s dry??
This is actually my first go 'round making hash. Smoked a lot, just never made my own.
Yes that’s about it takes a week roughly the smaller you chop it up the faster it will dry .
I’ve created a monster!
Indeed you have. I do like smoking it. (If I can get it to burn, wink, wink)
Now I have no more trim to process. Hmm! Turn all my bud into hash???
I just dumped 3 ounces in my hash bin marked for bubble, plus all the trim and larf from a couple plants………
Sounds like a party in the making! The Post Office must have lost my In- Vite.
You need no invite brother, my door is always open for you……….
I do appreciate that. Mine is open for you, as well.
I think right after Christmas I may be making a trip up to T-town. My sister in law lives in Bella Vista Ark and I can pick her up in Jenks. Her daughter will bring her half way and I finish it up. I will let you know.
No problem bro……
Now back to trimming a ISS for hanging to dry!
I cut it into tiny bits using a titanium blade, then toss it in the freezer on parchment. It dries in about a week.
Before and after photos - it gets lighter as it dries.
As a large block it will take a long time to dry out in the freezer, so the thinner or smaller it is, the faster it dries.
So if I put it in the freezer as a block and then grind it up and put back in the freezer?? Same thing?? I normally just grind off enuff for tomorrow and let it dry overnight.
Yes it will work the same way. The blocks maintain moisture on the inside. Once chopped fine and put in freezer in parchment paper it will dry completely. The finer the faster it dries, and as Joe says it gets a lighter shade to it. Once in the paper keep it spread out and flat when put in freezer.
Yep that works and then you can take hash dabs right out of the freezer, instead of prepping it the night before.
