I saw that way back.
My wife and I haven’t been to a movie theatre in, probably, twenty years. It was Lord Of The Rings.
I’m not much interested in going to town much. And setting in a room surrounded by a hundred people is way too much.
But I might even face that for Dune.
That how I feel
I loved that guy walking around with the ghetto blaster and stealing the Ferrari to crash.
This is why I try to do movies in my yard
The last one I saw at the theater for was Avatar. Some movies need a big screen and big sound.
Exactly the same here. Before that it was Independence Day. You’re correct. Some are just meant for the big screen. I actually saw Avatar in IMAX.
Nice. I watched it with the 3-d glasses on.
We will be watching Dune in 3-d too.
Did you think the story of Avatar was a ripoff of Dances With Wolves?
Seems like it to me. Guy falls in love with native girl then tries to save the tribe from the others by becoming part of the tribe.
Maybe too much reefer!
You are right there. It’s, all the world, better with a big screen. Doug has it nailed down tight! I’m having a pipe dream right now, envisioning my own setup.
I see the comparison. But I liked both movies.
With some outdoor speakers and 3d enabled projector it’s hard to beat my yard But IMAX double projector for 3d is better, just not as nice for seating.
The theaters have amazing sound now. Dont think you can duplicate that in your yard. Or can you? lol
I’m old I guess. I’d have to wear hearing protection in a theatre.
I’ve been out of likes for a while so here’s a for you all!
You can feel the sound, if you know what I mean. I love it.
You could but I have not. Would piss off the neighbors. I certainly can’t beat the screen size, projector quality or sound of a theater but they can’t compete with lying under the stars watching a movie. A 13 foot diagonal screen is plenty big enough for my usage though. Can also smoke week and have some whiskey. Guess it’s a trade off Also a nice fire adds to the mood, the theater tends to frown on that as well, lol.
Guess that’s true. lol. I remember when we use to drink whisky and smoke weed in the Kingsway theater in T.O. Bet you know that place…
LOL, over on Bloor, yes indeed. It even gave me a like back for that one. Good times.
That’s right. lol
