Blueberry x Silver Lotus smoke report:

Same nug, different angles. I like the way it’s casting a shadow in those pics haha. Seems appropriate, because it really is just a big ol’ fat nug. All of the nugs are a little “loose”, but the one in that pic weighs 9.5 grams, which is heavier than I thought it’d weigh. And who cares how much it weighs? Haha. It is a “looser”-type flower formation, though, not like those Imperial Majesties or the Dread Breads at all. And that’s fine with me.
Smell: So. Fucking. Good. Easily the best-smelling weed from this round. And LOUD, too. You do not have to bury your nose in the jar to get a good whiff at all haha.
The first time I opened the jar, which was last Saturday (meaning it’d been sealed for exactly 28 days), I still got huge whiffs of the blueberry/Vidalia onion smell that she had while she was growing. What’s weird, though, is that I held the jar under my girl’s nose right after opening it and she immediately said it smelled lemony, which I wasn’t picking up on at all. However, the more I open the jar, the more I’m picking up on that lemony scent. Sometimes all I can smell is the blueberry/onion smell; other times it does smell overwhelmingly lemony.
There’s also some pretty noticeable “earthy” smells, but I’m fairly certain that’s coming from my soil mix and not necessarily from the genetics. If there’s even the slightest possibility of “earthiness” in the genetics, I feel like my soil mix will always draw that out and make it more pronounced than it’d ordinarily be.
Flavor: same as the smell. It’s really kind of complex. Sometimes all I can taste is that sweet onion/berry flavor and other times it’s lemony or hints of earth. And that’s all in the same joint haha. One hit’ll taste like onions/berry, the next will taste lemony, the next will taste earthy, then back again… It’s pretty cool. Tastes awesome.
High: This one really is an “any time of day”-type of smoke. When I blaze it in the morning/early afternoon, I’m still able to function and get stuff done with a smile on my face, very happy. But if I smoke it later in the day, I do get more mellow and it does feel more relaxing (not that it feels “racy” when I smoke it early in the day). I’ve even smoked this one a couple times right before getting ready for bed and had no trouble at all falling asleep.
It’s kind of like, if I actually have something to do, this weed won’t prevent me from doing it, but if I don’t have anything to do, it’s not gonna make me get up and find something to do haha. And that really is kind of my favorite type of high.
The high itself is sort of “zen,” maybe ever-so-slightly spacy, but nothing too overwhelming. It’s functional if I need to function haha, but if I don’t, it’ll allow me to just “be,” if that makes any sense. Also a pretty decent mood elevator, definitely puts me in a happy state of mind. It doesn’t necessarily make shit funnier or anything, but it makes me feel happy and… content, maybe? I dunno haha. It’s really good weed, though. Nice job, @iamyou_youareme. Thanks again for these seeds. I’m gonna grow some more of these for sure, maybe when I finally decide to take cuts and keep moms around and shit, because this one, out of everything I’ve tried from this round so far, would for sure be the “keeper” plant just based on smell/flavor alone, although the high is very good, too.
I have found quite a few tiny little undeveloped seeds while breaking up nugs, I dunno if this one particular plant selfed or if maybe something else “pollinated” it or what. But it’s not a big deal. They really are, like, just the tiniest little beginnings of seeds. I do always have to make sure none get in the joints, though, which is kind of a pain haha! Been a long time since I had to do that…

I’m thinking a lot of the high and smell and taste is coming from the Blueberry side of things, I totally get the “feel good, smile on my face, everything is good with the world” feeling from the BB. It doesn’t give me a super tired feeling either, but it’s not a super potent high, just an overall mood/life enhancer. I’ve been busting out the jar of the BB to roll J’s with (trying to get my rolling game up) and there is some funkiness there that’s not the BB fruitiness, maybe onion is a good way to describe it. Kinda smells like dirty sock foot funk to me. But I’m real curious to see how the Silver Lotus influenced the BB, especially since it was an open pollination of 10 males, with no real selection done (I’m not a breeder, just a chucker, exploring at this point!) so I’m sure there may be a good bit of variation in those seeds. But definitely sounds like you got a BB dominate one, and maybe… the BB genetics will dominate in all of the beans, BB has been around for a long time and could be further line worked. I’m just gonna have to grow some to find out though!
I just stupidly dug out some Ghost Train Haze crosses I made and I forgot that I had Sunshine Daydream males at one point and threw some pollen on a Tangie girl (my first cross?), anyways, I planted those the other day to fill in if needed, should’ve have planted some BBxSL…
Awesome pics too! That nug looks really good, I like the fluffier herb, seems to taste better sometimes.

What? You’re joking, right? You thought I’d grow this out but not post my thoughts? Come on, dude… haha.
This one’s not exactly “potent,” but it’s satisfying for sure. I don’t smoke it and then feel like I need to blaze more or blaze something else an hour later. I’m good for at least two hours.
One thing I forgot to mention in the review is that it is absolutely a creeeeeeeeperrrrrrrrr haha. The first time I blazed it, I did three bong rips and sat down on the couch to watch that Bad Vegan series on Netflix. I really didn’t even start feeling anything at all for maybe ten minutes, to the point where I was for sure doubting the strength and wondering if maybe I should smoke some more, but fifteen minutes after that, I was definitely high.
I love creeper weed, so… And “potent”? What does that even mean??? Haha. I’d rather blaze some weed that takes 25 or 40 minutes to fully settle in than some shit that gets me floored in two minutes. That’s not fun to me at all.
Yeah, ordinarily I’d say “dirty sock foot funk,” too, but the Clusterfunk was just so gawddamn gnarly-smelling and rank that I can’t really ascribe that exact description to the BB/SL. There’s a sweetness to it that’s much more pleasant and less off-putting than the Clusterfunk.
I think the Silver Lotus is for sure bringing the lemon smell that my girl picked up on immediately. I know that people always say SSH smells lemony, anyway. I’ve gotten batches of SSH that smelled lemony; I’ve gotten batches that smelled cheesy. I’ve gotten batches that smelled both haha. But I do think you can see an SSH influence in the way it smells and smokes.
Plus, this plant was that one that was left on that weird light schedule for a while and didn’t grow like my plants usually do. I’d like to see it on the “normal” light schedule haha.
I don’t think that sounds stupid haha. I’ve really liked the couple “Sativa” crosses of Rare Dankness that I’ve grown. I didn’t think that Ghost Train Haze by itself was all that great (never grew it, just got some from dispensaries a couple times), but the crosses I have grown that they used that same male on to make the GTH turned out great. I bet those plants turn out pretty good.
We can’t grow/smoke Bodhi all the time, can we? Haha. I mean, I dunno, I did for five years, never had a problem with it haha!, but variety’s always good, anyway.

I was thinking I would try the #2 DB next, but then I realized,”Dude, you’ve been whining about finding accurate representations of Sour Diesel in seed form for fucking YEARS. Start checking out those crosses, gawddamnit!” haha…

Cool! The Outer Limits seemed to me to be the more SD-leaning of the two crosses this round, at least as far as looks and smell were concerned. We’ll see how they taste… haha. I’ve got a couple Top Dawg Sour crosses, too, but I’m not sure when I’m gonna plant them. I’m more inclined to try Doc’s SD x DE next.

This hit for me, or just more pleasant smoke than potent, I feel like it’s wasted time when you hit something that jumps right on you and is super strong, most of the time you have to have that inner monologue with yourself during the uncomfortable period until you settle into the stone which amounts to 15-20 minutes of a wasted high, I’d rather have something come on at a moderate pace to a pleasant level and continue the ride from that point

I dunno if it’s a waste of time, exactly haha, but I for sure appreciate and enjoy weed that takes a while to fully hit me more than those sorta “take my breath away”/“Whoa, I’m high as fuck two minutes after a few bong rips”-type of strains. Especially because of my on-again/off-again bouts with panic attacks, weed that gently eases me into being really baked is preferable haha.
But even when I’ve been panic attack-free for months or even years, I still like those sorta “creeper weed” strains a lot more than the insta-baked ones.
Haha, yeah, I fucking hate that, when it’s like,”Okay, I gotta sit down for a few minutes.” I was thinking about soaking some of those Chem D x GHash seeds of Bodhi’s tomorrow, but I suspect that they’re kind of gonna smoke like that, so I changed my mind. I’ll plant them at some point, but not tomorrow haha.

Ummmmmm, I dunno, lemme take a look…
It says “EOS Rebel T3i” on it. It’s pretty old, I think, been using it ever since I moved in with my girl like 8+ years ago. And she had it for a while before that, too. I’m happy with the pics it takes, though.
I was thinking about getting a new camera a year or two ago, mostly because I’d like to be able to get some macro shots. Or whatever those “trichome closeup shots” are called (I think it’s macro, right?). But with the newer cameras, it’s like taking a good pic isn’t enough; you gotta run it through a bunch of software and shit, too (I know this because I follow syzygy’s log haha) and I don’t really wanna do all that.
And now I’m broke haha, so a new camera’s outta the question. Time to get a job… Maybe.

A macro shot is more down to the lens, than the camera itself. If you got a decent macro lens I bet that camera would surprise you. Having said that, camera lenses can get to another level of stupid, cost wise.

yup, you can get a EFS macro lens, theyre usually cheaper than the full frame EF. the prob is, then youll have to learn to focus stack…i mean nothing hard… but involves software fiddling.

True. I started looking at lenses at some point, back when I thought I really wanted to get closeup trichome shots, but the types of lenses required for those macro shots were almost as expensive as a new camera that had macro capabilities, which is why I was like,”Shit, man, might as well just buy a whole new camera…”
I know, man. My dad was suuuuuuper-into photography, even had a darkroom in his house before everything went digital. And then he went digital, too. But before that, he always carried, like, this big-ass “camera bag” or whatever it’s called, with like five different lenses in it and shit, and developed all of his own photographs. It is for sure an expensive hobby. But he was just like that haha. He also had an entire bedroom dedicated to listening to music, with like a $50,000 stereo system and old-school tube amps and, like, the perfect $2,000 stylus for his turntable and shit…
Fucking weirdo… haha! I mean, what kind of FREAK dedicates an entire bedroom to their hobby??? Certainly not weed growers…

I dig creeper stuff too, kinda like a sneak attack. Definitely don’t need “put your dick in in the dirt” type weed all the time, so I like the more mild effects, I wasn’t saying that it’s potency was necessarily a bad thing.
For sure, I need to find a good batch of SSH because I don’t think I’ve ever tried the real thing. Sounds like I would dig the high from most descriptions.
And Meangene! I’ve got a pack of HPK x SkyCuddler Double Kush that’s calling my name. 15 seeds in that pack too, Meangene hooks it up… gonna be a fun one!
Yeah, it’s really all about the lens for macro stuff, but you know… money and all that stuff. I think I got my Macro lens for around $300, but you can probably find a better deal for the Canon Ti Series. But yeah, then learning the focus stack stuff… most definitely easier to just point and shoot

Haha, yeah, right. If I had them, I’d either sell them or, more likely, get rid of our tv and dedicate the living room for listening to music. He got rid of them when he moved from FL to OR like fifteen years ago. And he’s dead now anyway, so… haha. Our setup is pretty good, though. We’ve got speakers in almost every room in the house, at least. The only thing I don’t like about all this new-fangled shit is we can’t connect our turntable to those gawddamn Sonos speakers. Or whatever they’re called. So we’ve just got a turntable and speakers at the end of our hallway, in addition to the “internet music” bullshit haha. Having the turntable and the speakers at the end of a hallway is kind of a pain in the ass, but it also sounds pretty good. Something about the acoustics in our hallway…

And you’re the second person who’s mentioned that they got at least 15 seeds in their packs (supershitfuck said he got 20 in his), which pisses me off haha.
