Or sent in 40 sex kits for that price!!

I shoulda just done it myself. It’s not like the dude had some kind of “RO installation expertise”; he was straight-up just flipping through the instruction manual the entire time haha. I legit coulda done it without even looking at the manual, been fucking with RO units for years now.

But yeah, I wouldn’t mind a visit from @Joker haha.

haha, yeah I wouldn’t tip my plumber… last time I had one here they made a quick $200 for less than an hours time. Maybe he was just hanging around, bullshitting because he didn’t want to go to his next job, I used to do that when I actually had to go to my customers offices. I mean I’ll definitely hook people up with herb if they smoke, and I feel like that’s a pretty decent enough tip most of the time.

lol, that Curb scene is hilarious. Love that show!

Yeah! That was the other thing, was that a couple times dude was like,”We have to go out to the van to get a tool,” and they were gone for like ten minutes each time. I was sitting there thinking,”WTF? Is this motherfucker milking the clock???” haha. I mean, clearly, they were milking the clock. It doesn’t take ten minutes to “get a tool…”

Anyway, lesson learned: I need to quit being lazy haha.

Did they come back smelling like your herb? Lol

I am so nervous every time a contractor is in my basement. My wife wonders why I don’t pay more people to do shit around the house.

Haha! No, man, that was the crazy thing. I had the dude pegged as an Old Head, had the vibe, had the look, had the gnarly “long-time smoker” voice, everything… I was positive he blazed, woulda put serious money on it, but he said he didn’t, so…

Another lesson learned: don’t judge a book by their gnarly-ass cover haha…

I used to get nervous, too, but I get the impression that all of the people who have to go to homes to do their work (in CA, anyway), like HVAC people, electricians, whoever, are pretty used to being surrounded by weed growers. They all seem relatively uninterested in the fact that my entire house reeks of weed, anyway haha…

As long as fulvic is mystery magic, I’m in! I’ve got some from my mud days so I’ll give it a shot… in a shotglass.

Do you want him to come back? LOL!

Anybody with a license, insurance, and employees has expenses, and they are in business to make a profit, not a wage.

I was a hick town contractor/builder, but I have a brother in LA, and he pays nutty, to me, prices for work. But, he couldn’t fix toast.

I tip anyone who does me a favor, and a good job. You didn’t want to do it, and now it doesn’t leak, right?

But $440 labor for that, no tip for you. There’s probably lots of other plumbers out there!

As an aside, and maybe a psa, I recently replaced my RO unit, and the ppms were worse than before? After much fucking around, I noticed the 1/4" supply line was only dripping when it should have been a steady stream.

After I reamed out the line, everything was hunky dory. The instructions said multiple times that it worked best at specific pressure range. They weren’t kidding.

Yeah, that’s why I usually take care of anybody who does work on anything at my house. You wanna build a relationship, especially so that you can call them on their cel phone, as opposed to going through their employer, and get them to do shit off the books for cash at half the price that you’d ordinarily be charged haha. I had a plumber who I’ve known for years, haven’t needed to call him in a whiiiile, though, and when I called him today, his number was outta service, so… Had to deal with some bullshit instead.

The same thing was happening with my old RO unit for like the last two years at least. I’d replace the filters and somehow the TDS levels would go UP. Initially, I thought it was the same issue as yours, like maybe the supply line was “kinked” or something. Got under the sink and straightened out everything, re-attached all the lines, made sure everything was perfect, but I still kept having the same issue as far as TDS levels were concerned.

Plus, I kept having to change the membrane out every two years, when they’re supposed to last 3-5 years. Had to change out the tank three times in six years… I got the feeling that the manufacturer was just, uh, crappy haha. We’ll see how this new one does.

I’m sure you know this already, but be careful with it. A half a tablespoon in a third-gallon of water seems to be good for sprouting seeds. I watered with it like once every two weeks a few years ago and I fried the fuck outta my plants. Now, if I use it at all as a drench, it’s just once or twice a grow. Maybe it’s different for coco, though haha…

100% germination rate for all five Zap and Pura Vida f2’s and all four Sour Diesel x Dragon Energy seeds, so that’s good. The Zaps took a little longer than the other stuff, but I had a feeling that’d be the case. The fifth one’s just now rearing its head. We’ll wait and see if everything starts frying up on day 17 haha. The new soil mix seems good, though, I think they’ll be fine.

@HolyAngel I keep chuckling to myself, thinking about that thing I said to you a while back about,”Nahhhh, once they’re above ground, we’re on cruise control…” haha. Cut to a shitload of seedlings all fried-up a couple weeks later…

Heh yeah I thought I was all good and decided to do some inspection today and found the beginnings of a spider mite infestation on two of the mom’s and most of the veg tent :see_no_evil: just trimmed back all the infected fans on literally everything in veg, tossed the two infected moms(have clones)… may need to see about getting some neem oil or something but I think this might do it.

If you’re trying to avoid spraying neem or other products indoor, you could try spraying ice water.

It’s a very old method for dealing with soft bodied insect pests. They have no biological mechanism for dealing with sudden temperature changes. So spraying ice water on spider mites in a nice warm indoor tent will kill a decent number of them on contact.

Note- this only works for live mites, not eggs.

It may cause your plants leaves to claw up slightly, or show other signs of cold stress, like flushing red or purple. It won’t cause any lasting problems.

Just make sure you don’t accidentally get some ice water spray on any kind of grow light bulb, the temperature shock will shatter the glass.

Oh, man, that blows. Which moms?

That’s cool, I’ve never heard of that before. I’m probably gonna try this, in addition to the IPM, just because I’ve already found, uh… something on one of the older starts (Mountain Temple). Could be aphids, could be thrips, I dunno. But that ice water thing sounds like an easy and mild treatment to do in between the IPM.

Any of you Mountain Temple fans considering making your own version using Bodhi’s Temple V2 and the upcoming Appalachian seeds from High & Lonesome?

I don’t ever make seeds, so, no, I haven’t considered that haha. But that’s cool that H&L is doing… what? Some kind of Appalachia seed release? I thought that that male was long gone; did he get it back from somebody or something?

He announced on IG he’ll be releasing some Appalachian F3 seeds in the coming months.

It’s announcements like this that make me realize the seed collecting will never end for me.

H&L made the Appalachia and sent seeds to bodhi. Bodhi picked his own male to use and that’s what’s gone. Or maybe it was that H&L sent bodhi a particularly good male to use. Either way, H&L still has the original stock.

F3? That’s admirable. Nobody ever goes further than f1 these days… haha!

Shit, man, I thought I was done buying seeds… Just kidding, I’m not buying any of those (although I’d like to), especially if I have to monitor IG to get them. Still, though, I look forward to reading all the grow reports.

Yeah, as far as I know and have read, it was just one particularly good Appalachia male clone that came from H&L that Bodhi used. I don’t remember ever reading anything about any seeds (not that me not remembering means anything haha).

Gawddamn, man… I actually AM interested in those f3 seeds haha! Do you have to order them via his IG account? I fucking DESPISE Instagram, reeeeallllyyyy don’t wanna have to be checking it out to see when those seeds get dropped. And I’m sure that’ll be something that anybody interested in those seeds will have to do, since they’ll probably sell out in two minutes.

Fucking IG… haha.

I think headiegardens will get them, I’ve also heard riot seeds will have them too. Unsure on speakeasy/jbc/glg
