Bodhi Dread Bread and Imperial Majesty; Lucky Dog Diesel Therapy; Doc D Purple Corinto Budder x A5Thai, Outer Limits and Sour Diesel x DE

I’ve got the Royal Kush, like, f27 or something haha. Just kidding, it’s the f9, I think? F10? Something like that. Lemme look at my list.

F10, so after Mandelbrot died, which makes me a little leery, but It’ll probably be fine.

And also the Oilspill and some bullshit Mimosa cross that they sent as freebies that I’m not really interested in at all. Talking about the Mimosa cross that I’m not interested in; I’m extremely interested in the Oilspill.

I dunno why I didn’t plant the Royal this round. Supposedly it’s a 60-day strain and I really wanna be growing quicker-finishing stuff in the summer, just so I can be done with everything by mid-August, before it’s consistently 118 degrees every day. Although who knows what this summer’ll be like? It’s fucking overcast and cold as shit right now, been like that for days, so maybe we’ll have a pretty mild summer this year.

I hope not, though haha! I need some heat!

Yeah, I haven’t, either. The most “grapefruit-y” thing I’ve blazed was Soma’s NYCD and I liked that weed. Didn’t grow that one, though. And anyway, I’ve only got three of those Grapefruit plants vegging now. Considering my usual gawdawful M:F ratios, I’ll be happy if I end up with one female haha.

I’m just waiting to see what’s male and what’s female before I start the new thread, haven’t even been checking yet. But I guess it’s about that time, started everything on April 15, gotta water today, so I’ll try to remember to take a look.

Like I said, I’ve just been in zombie mode lately, I don’t really know what’s wrong with me, but I’ve felt so out of it lately. Like, I’m not even present or whatever. Time to snap back to reality.

days? months! bro… Canada literally was warmer that LA when i went, if the weather isn’t perfect here fuck this place :joy:

i absolutely miss the heat

for some reason nobody has anything good to say about the diesel crosses from lucky dog, but raves about some of the other ones, as far as i can tell, i’m not going to pop anything “diesel” probably ever again from what i tried but wasn’t lucky dog, just saying

It has not been in the 90’s here. Not even close. It’s pissing me off. I need some warmth right now. I wanna be sweating when I take my dog for a walk; instead, I’m wearing fucking three layers of clothes.

Uh, that was two runs-ago, but yeah, I wasn’t super-stoked about those two plants. It was good weed, the high was good, just no real “Diesel” elements that I could ascertain, as far as the flavor was concerned. And that’s all I really care about when it comes to anything Diesel. I still have a lot of those seeds left, though, so I’ll probably check them out again at some point.

Yeah, those all sound good. I think I have that Frank’s x A5T, too. Couple packs of the SHADYNASTY, as well, which is also an FLB cross. If nothing else, you kinda gotta grow some It’s Always Sunny…-inspired weed, right? Haha.

Well, it got into the low-80’s here for a couple days last week, I even actually said to my girl after taking the dog for a walk one afternoon,”Hoowee! I think the flannel weather’s finally over!” But that didn’t last haha.

An old friend of mine is in Newport Beach right now, visiting from Hungary, so I went down there to hang with her on Monday and it was just bleak haha. Foggy as shit and cold as fuck, even at, like, three in the afternoon. The beaches are always kinda like that, though. I remember being really weirded out by that weather when I lived in Venice, waking up in June and being like,”Why the fuck is it all misty and foggy right now?” haha. “It’s June, gawddamn it!”

Anyway, yeah, I dunno… Complaining about the weather on this thread. Time to start a new one haha.

My same exact experience with the lone blue magoo bx3 I grew!

I don’t even know how I came cross this, as I don’t have a Twitter account, but I was fucking around online just now and somehow found this; if y’all have a few minutes to kill and want a good laugh, check this shit out: x.com

As soon as I saw the first line,”Ever wonder what the rest of the Mona Lisa looked like?” I already knew it was gonna be a shitshow. But the comments on each individual post are fucking hysterical, totally tearing this “AI artist” a new asshole. I mean… Did I ever wonder what “the rest” of the Mona Lisa looked like? Fucking what? What kind of question is that? Only a total moron could look at the Mona Lisa and wonder,”Yeah, but what does the rest look like…?” haha. “It’s good, but what if the painting was bigger???” Fucking AI dipshits…

My favorite comments were on the AI-generated “rest” of The Creation of Adam. Fucking hysterical… The comments on Nighthawks are pretty funny, too, as was the AI rendition of “the rest” of that painting. And the Van Goghs. And pretty much every other thing in that thread haha.

It’s like these morons with zero artistic ability keep trying to convince people,”No, no, for real, AI art is a thing!” without realizing the entire point of art is to convey the human experience. Motherfuckers just don’t get it.

But I guess they never did. This is just a new way for talentless hacks to try to be relevant.

Last non-weed-related post here haha, but my girl went through the vetting process and got accepted as a contestant on that show Master Minds, which is a trivia show where they pit three “regular” people against three “Master Minds” haha. If you’ve ever watched that show The Chase, that dude The Beast is one of them. Ken Jennings was on it for a little bit, too. It’s not as hardcore as Jeopardy!, but it’s definitely more difficult than, like, Cash Cab and shit like that.

Anyway, she’s in Burbank right now competing, doing the taping. I’m pretty proud of her. They don’t have a live studio audience, just canned applause haha, otherwise I woulda gone with her to cheer her on. Instead, I’m just sitting here with butterflies in my stomach, eagerly waiting to hear how it went. I can’t even imagine how she feels. I’d be so fucking nervous haha.

Congrats to your girl, that sounds like a lot of fun and quite the experience, even if it is a bit nerve-racking.

Anyway, where can we go to bitch about the weather? Haha, I know I am used to grey summer days where I am at but not like what we’ve been having lately. Let alone you all in LA and San Diego, this is some widespread greyness! Most days I feel like I am living in Alaska during the summer where you don’t know if it’s 6 o’clock in the morning or 6 o’clock in the evening…

Back to weed now, I did sprout some of those Black Triangle beans you hooked me up with and have 4 plants going, they are 2-3 weeks old and I will likely start a thread once they get going if you want to watch them grow. One of them is already looking TK leaning with the wider inter-nodal spacing and the 3 fingered leaves. Anyway, we will see. Thanks again for those, BT was always one I wanted to grow.

Same here in az been windy and grey still in the 90s for weather which is abnormally low for this time of year such a odd summer black triangle sounds awesome and throws some pretty plants doc d has a beautiful tk leaning cut those should be a fun grow

And congratulations to your girl @minitiger that must be nerve racking but a fun experience

That’s awesome! Even if I could get through the vetting process (which I surely would not), I’d get in front of a camera and freeze. They’d be asking questions, I’d be staring off into space, mumbling “Uhhh… Ummm” or some shit. I was not made to be in the spotlight, haha!

Hoping she nails it!

You can still do that here haha. As long as the weather continues to be like it has been the past six months, I will bitch about it right along with you haha. I’m with you. This is bullshit. It cleared up for two days last Friday and Saturday and then reverted back to the garbage weather. It fucking rained two nights ago. RAINED! In June! Haha. WTF?

Sweet! Yeah, tag me when you start the thread. That’s gonna be outdoors?

See? That’s the thing, though. Like, in LA “June Gloom” is a thing, where it’s overcast for most of the day for the first few weeks of June, but around 4 o’clock, the clouds will part and you’ll get a little bit of sunshine. It’s usually relatively warm, though, even when it’s overcast. Not 90’s or anything, but definitely not in the 60’s, either. I should be in flip-flops right now, gawddamn it! Haha.

I will say that I usually veg my summer starts outside until I move them into the seven-gallons on June 15; that has not been an option this year. Never seen any bullshit weather like this, ever.

I know. So would I. We watch that show all the time, but still… It’s not the same as being in the studio, with the “Master Minds” in front of you haha. She was actually just complaining like two nights-ago about how much she would hate to have a big wedding, with all the attention on her and people fawning all over her and shit. Hopefully she just focused and dominated.

When she left this morning, I was like,”Kick their asses, baby!” Hopefully that helped haha.

We used to experience that up in Wa. Rainy all day, then it would open up for an amazing sunset, then back to the regularly scheduled rain.

Yeah, it’s not unusual for it to rain in the PNW in June, I remember that very well, but LA “June Gloom” just means overcast; I’ve never seen it rain here in June, ever. Barely ever seen it rain in May, either, and we got tons of it (and hail). Very strange. Supposed to rain here again in a couple days… Fuck that.

All I can think about is,”Will we even be able to go swimming this year???” haha.

Here on the Central Coast we have May Grey, June Gloom, No Sky July, Fogust, haha. But yeah, usually the sky opens up and we have sunny days in between the overnight and morning fog, sometimes it stays grey for a number of days but I don’t remember damn near a month straight! And yeah, we had over a half an inch of rain a couple days ago…

Got them going indoors, since I’ve had so much trouble the last few years with bud rot outdoors, I am being even more picky about what I put outdoors to see what strains can handle it or not. I have one female Purple Pakistani Chitral from Bodhi that I have going outdoors, that one is supposed to hold up well against cold and wet climates so fingers crossed she holds up.

The next thing I am experimenting with is starting them in early April instead of late May, hoping if they start to flower sooner, maybe botrytis isn’t floating around as readily in the air and they don’t catch it as easily. I’m just spitballing here for the most part and chasing my tail but we shall see.

It’s funny when I first started growing outdoors I didn’t think about any of this shit and I never had an issue until the last few years, so in all, I am trying to revert back to what I first started doing and seeing if that helps.

Yeah, that’s not unusual for that area or anywhere near the beaches, really. I remember that when I lived in Venice and Marina del Rey and shit, all foggy in the morning in July. But that is not a thing where we live now. Or it didn’t used to be. It better not be like this next year haha.

Are you talking about outdoors? Because wouldn’t outdoor plants flower at the same time no matter when you started them? Or are you talking about indoors?

Okay, so here is the weird part. I am sure that my outdoor plants likely never get 12 hours of direct sunlight either at my current property or my previous house. Yet, it seems the plants still know that it is daylight as they don’t start to flower as an indoor 12/12 from seed plant would although those still usually grow for 3 weeks until they are “sexually mature” enough to start the flowering process.

My first ever outdoor grow I grew two, now don’t laugh haha, Hawaii Maui Waui plants from Nirvana Seeds. I started them mid to late March and I’ll be damned if I wasn’t harvesting those plants by early to mid September. Nirvana said that strain would flower for 9-11 weeks.

Now another flashback to the first Gold Star x Snow Lotus I grew outdoors in 2019, have on record I started seeds on June 10th, I harvested the plant on November 27th! The next year I popped another round of Gold Star x Snow Lotus on April 20th, the plant was harvested by the third week of October as that was the plant that I created seeds with and had that small distribution on OG. Even though there could be differences in phenos, it seems the plant that was started a month earlier, finished a month earlier.

Anyway, in all, I don’t really know haha. I’m just throwing shit and seeing what sticks. Will definitely keep you posted though, we will see when it starts to flower and if it gets botrytis or not haha. I have the plant in a half wine barrel that is hooked up to automated irrigation for my veggie garden so at least it’s hands off growing so I don’t have too much wasted effort in my endeavors.

How was the high on that? I grew 1 plant but never got to flower it. Thanks!

Haha, it was actually really nice, not too up or too down, just pretty good all around. Everyone I give weed to always wanted more of that Maui Waui and that’s all they would talk about. Not sure if they liked the high or if they just really like the name, haha.

I grew Rosetta Stone along with them one year which is more or less Jack Herer from Brothers Grimm and I had to really tell everyone to not overlook it next to the Maui Waui as I thought it was a more potent and interesting high.
